I never really understood why some ASMR role plays are about things I find stressful such as job interviews or have me a dentist chair. Of course, these things are not stressful for all people. I would suppose it's seen as relaxing due to the unrelaxing nature of it in the real world, you are faced with the same situation you may have but with no social obligation to interact and talk and no chance of pain.
