36mm is so proportionate and fits everyone. You can’t go wrong with it. Pure classic and timeless. I also owned 36 mm Datejust despite of having the chance of purchasing 41mm. I chose this as this simply looks great and classic.

Something doesn’t seem right. This DateJust 116234 stopped production in 2019 and then switched to the 126234, without the red/black roulette date window. If you purchased this in October 2020 from an AD, then this is pre-owned? But the new style warranty cards (without your name) did not start until spring 2020, which would match a 126234. The 116234 should have come bundled with the old style warranty card. The AD is not supposed to mix cards because the serial number needs to match the watch.

Nice catch, I never though about it this way because the serial number on the card is matching with the one on the watch. Maybe they stopped issuing the old cards even if it was for an older version that they still have in stock. I purchased it in October 2020. It was in display along with the newer 126234 version but not in this configuration which I desired. The watch had all stickers but they removed all upon purchase. I have strange situations with the AD in my country, for example they wanted to sell to me the new submariner 126610 for $14K.

@@thepickyreviewer ok, I think if the serial number on the card matches the number engraved on the watch, you are fine. Maybe Rolex sent out new cards for the the older models that were still in stock at your retailer. In USA, ADs are not allowed to sell Rolex for above the recommended retail price. If they get caught , they could lose their Rolex AD status.

This is how it should be everywhere not only in the US. I raised a complaint on their website. They called and emailed me back to apologize. I guess that’s how they run the business now. Watches just go straight to dealers from the AD. My friend has a Luxury watch store and he told me that I will never be able to get another watch from this AD again because he and other dealers are buying them with a markup.

I previously had the 41 smooth bezel on oyster bracelet. But came to realize that a datejust deserves the fluted bezel uniqueness 😍. Oyster or jubilee I will say depend on your lifestyle. Oyster is more sporty. Jubilee is more elegant and classy, suits formal wear more.

Superb review With a domed bezel the datejust would be more versatile. You can use it with jeans or a suit, on the pool and at a fine dinner

This is so true. My previous black datejust 41 was the smooth bezel and you are right. Although it doesn’t feel as special as the fluted bezel.

@@gerardoesquivel9919 kinda yes. In vintage datejust eg:16234 I prefer jubilee all the way. In the newer references, since the lugs became polished, I feel the oyster makes it more masculine and versatile.
