I have this exact watch and love it. Bought it new in 1981 from an AD. Factory serviced twice.

Fantastic example there. You can also mention that the bracelet is original to the watch. You can tell by the “L5“ mark stamped inside the clasp; that code is for mid 80’s, so this means the bracelet is original to that same watch (which makes it more interesting). Congrats for the amazing timepiece you have there!

I have had this watch since 1986 and once, while working as a ski patrolman, I went out to bring in an injured skier. After I worked the accident scene, I returned to the patrol office and looked to my wrist to get the time for my report. My watch was not on my wrist and I knew it had been there when I had been dispatched. I rushed back to the scene and searched through the deep snow with negative results. Sick to my stomach, I returned to the patrol office and much later, reached into my parka and found my watch in the bottom of my pocket. It had apparently caught the catch on the edge of the pocket and slipped off my wrist when I removed my gloves to treat that skier. I have been very careful to wear that watch only under conditions where chance of losing it are minimal. So, I wear my 1968 vintage Tudor Submariner when engaged in strenuous activities. I find that now, however, that old Tudor is worth 8 to 9k so I bought a couple of Invicta Rolex style watches which were less than $100.00 and I don’t fear their loss.

My personal name for my watch (a slightly older model) is the clint because this model of watch was worn by Clint Eastwood in a few movies.

I think it is indeed Mr. Eastwood's watch, as I remember him wearing one in "In the Line of Fire".

It's so fugly that it's beautiful. That sunburst dial is just straight up gorgeous though.
