Depending on what model you want, there is supply out there and even discounts to be had from reputable dealers on the gray market. As you probably already know, most of the sales people in the Rolex boutiques only want to sell to buyers who have spent substantial amounts on watches over a number of years. If you aren’t this kind of buyer, you could wait indefinitely and are unlikely to get the exact watch you want. They may offer you a watch eventually, but it will likely be one that is less desirable and not the one you have been waiting very patiently for. I hope you manage to get the exact watch you want.

Seriously, forget the new releases for a second. Let's focus on getting the current stuff actually available to buy. It's frustrating seeing cool watches and then realizing they're perpetually out of stock. Put your energy into fixing the supply chain, not designing more unobtainable items.

The Rolex Cellini Prince (square watch only available in precious metals) had an exhibition case back and a manual wind movement. It was very cool. Discontinued only in 2015.
