I totally respect that you’re not into gold/flashy watches, especially given where you live. I’d much rather wear a silver or stainless steel watch that is more subtle and flies under the radar. I think having an understated piece is just so much cooler and ultimately more stylish. Great video, I enjoy hearing your take on the industry!

Tudor uses an Aluminum-based bronze alloy, which patinas much more slowly and less vividly than tin-based alloys like CuSn6, for example. The tin based alloys are more scratch resistant. I prefer the extra personality of tin-based bronze, but it’s a matter of preference.

I'M with you 💯 on the 40mm Explorer 2s. Same goes for the Submariner/GMTs and Sea dwellers. Pre ceramic Rolex have a awesome 👌 cool factor to them. That modern Rolex just doesn't have anymore and the pre ceramics just wear so well

Agree totally LW , had new Rolex ceramic sports models, didn’t bond with them , sold them bought pre ceramic models sdweller, too much bling than purpose in the end

I really don’t like the bother to hang onto a box or papers on any items. I prefer to buy without so I don’t feel guilty that I will want to throw out or store poorly. All the best from MIchigan!

They already have a big R&D team and budget. Plus corporate input in Kenissi the movement maker. Also a great marketing department that is still growing. The sales of the chronographs has been great, and some other manufacturers have to say they use the Breitling B movement in their own. What breitling doesn’t have is : 1)the brand cache of the other big 3 ( rolex, Cartier and omega) but you can only get that with time and marketing. 2) commercial strategies and inventory management where they don’t have to shove watches in grey market, and 3) total avoidance of questionable decisions like not using a better movement in the Superocean and set them to the same price of the seamasters.

Hublot popularized the rubber strap. Longines created the first GMT watch….this is an example why watch enthusiasts don’t care about Hublot. The brand just hasn’t done anything significant.

Every time Rolex raises their price on the Submariner the more the Super clone, Rolex copies by all the other watch companies sell more. I for example own an Invicta blue tone 37 mm. It cost $49.00. It looks good and keeps excellent time. Fifteen to sixteen thousand dollars for a steel model, no thank you! I will take my $49.00 steel watch. But the super clones are getting so good that they are fooling the experts.
