Well...Beta Chapter is on the campus of Howard University est. 1907....Omega Psi Phi was founded on Howard's campus and 2 of the founders of KAY also attended Howard....so saying that they didn't know about A PHI A is very frivolous.

#FACT: APhiA was the 1st social, college based Black Greek Letter Organization. Other black fraternities (yes multiple) existed dozens & even 100 yrs before 1906..It is those Black fraternities dating back to the 1700s that are at the foundation of all Black Greek Letter Organizations today. 1906 is the year the first multicultural fraternity was founded. known as Alpha Phi Alpha. Mad respect to them, for they paved the way for other ethnic groups to start their own orgs. Alpha Kappa Alpha is their sister sorority, and they were founded in 1908.

@filamacan Well, now you're getting into the world of conjecture, and I don't play that game when it comes to my Honorable Founders. What is a fact is that the Primary Founder of Phi Beta Sigma, A.L. Taylor, had the idea of developing a Fraternity before he stepped foot on HU's campus. This alone separates Sigma from Kappa and Omega, in that we are not descended from AphiA by virtue of one of the founders being associated with the Alphas and forming an org in response to it..

Also, I'd recommend researching those Black Fraternities that were established tangentially with Prince Hall Masonry and unincorporated Black fraternities that came along well before the Jewels came together to form Alpha.
