Good old British song, it was released in 1944 and the army used to sing it to take their minds away from war

I remember hearing this in Williamsburg, VA at Rosie Romp's Regal Dump when they were there God I miss that dinner theater. It was fun and entertaining. Jalapeno Poppers called Dragon Eggs. CLASSIC! ✌️😏👍

Yes the episode was called a soldier's farewell. When the platoon are singing the song while on the bus traveling back from the cinema.

I’ve also heard: “This is number 8. And that’s exactly what I did.” “This is number 9. His skills were quite divine~” *Finger motions* And “You’re all number 10. This is a den of sin~”

I'm just setting here wishing I was drunk as opposed to merely being a bit tired since it's so late here and I'm clearly bored. I was reminiscing about and singing cadences we sang in the US army when I saw this. I just had to listen. We never actually sang the whole song, we tended to roll into 'I'm a steam roller baby, and I'm rolling down the line, I'm a steam roller baby, and I'm rolling down the line' and 'Your left right, left right, left, right, kill, your left right, left right, you know I will', 'C130 rolling down the strip, it takes off like a rocket ship', and some others; all running cadences.

Great laughs, well done, but an episode of Combat!' brought me here with Sargent Saunders whistling the tune had me look it up, after 47 years after cadet camp. It originates in Britain - 1943 - but is timeless.

#6 with the glasses and ponytail looks like a guy I used to work with back in Kentucky. I showed him the video and he swears it's not him but for some reason I think he's not being truthful.
