I’ve never skated the X. But from Rollerblade’s site, the Edge and Edge X seem to be almost identical with just a few differences, which is as follows: -The Wheels: The Edge comes with 80mm, 85A Rollerblade Supreme Wheels with ILQ7 Plus bearings. The Edge X comes with 80mm, 85A Hydrogen Wheels with ILQ9 Classic Plus bearings. The ILQ9s will roll faster. And I’ve found Hydrogens have a little bit grippier wheels. (If you wanna practice slides, id recommend the Supremes. So, in a nutshell, the Edge Xs are faster, which is less ideal for beginners. -The Model: The Edges have two models. A man and woman model, where the X has one, unisex model. Whether or not the Man and Woman models differ, I have no idea. I think it has to do with some marketing strategy. Thats it, really. So, the Edge would be better for beginners and the X is for someone who has more confident control and comfortable with speed.

This rollerblades ended up being my first blades. The shop staff told me that I have wide feet but they ran out of size for the rb cruise and rb 80 pro x so they recommend me this rollerblade since it was the only rollerblade left that was wide and in my size. I’m not exactly sure if they are wide but they fit my feet when I use the thinner insoles. I’m pretty happy with how easy it is to balance and skate in them.

The liners in the XTs are a glove. They put some great design to them and they really grab your feet, the "heel pocket feeling" is real on these. Reign liners have a shank in the tongue. I just got the new camo ones & they fit like a glove & have a neoprene toe , so it isn’t bulky in the end of the toes area. Rollerblade is awesome. Only thing is, I wish they came with 84mm 255mm frame, it is much better in handling, while still being very maneuverable. I put Seba deluxe frames & street invader wheels on all my rollerblades! Hi from Poland. hey. I have slim feet, the left size is +- 270 mm and the right size is 265/6 mm, the instep is normal. I bought roller skates in size 9/9.5 and my left foot fills the entire shoe without the insole, and my right foot has minimal space, so if I use the insoles, it will be even more full. I'm wondering whether to stay with what I have or go for a smaller size or a completely different model of roller skates. When I drove around the house, they drive themselves, they are light and agile. I don't know if the smaller ones will be too small. In the ones I have, when I bend my knees slightly and the leg moves back, there is plenty of room in the hard shoe. When I drove around the house, they drove by themselves, fast, light, agile.

Great video and review, a bummer about the riveted cuff receiver. Also the plastic bottom of the insole is a good feature for power transfer, they make them similar to the Superfeet Hockey insoles which are solid upgrades. Regarding the reinforced liners, the only ones that I can think of off the top of my head are the MyFit Crown liner which seem to be out of stock everywhere and the new Intuition Premium liner which I'd probably get for these skates but they are also very expensive at $220.

@@ianbuck_oh I just got my Twister XTs and something I noticed comparing to my FR1s is the 45 degree ratchet does seem to reach a stopping point where it no longer ratchets. I think it becomes fully flush with the outside of the boot. The FR1 you can just crank and crank until there are no more strap grooves left and your foot is constricted. My foot size is about 27.8 cm (+ or - 1 cm) and I went with the US 9.0-9.5 (EU 42-42.5/ 27.0-27.5 cm) version and it fits perfectly. I am a proponent of the "performance fit" and ultra precise skates if I can squeeze my foot into a downsized skate I'd try for sure and these worked out beautifully. Also the liner is super plush, much softer than I was expecting and quite comfy. It fits great and the insole is excellent but I have replaced with some Superfeet Hockey Carbons I had laying around. Stock laces aren't great though and I replaced with some waxed hockey laces which makes them nicely tight and ultra responsive. The floppy cuff buckle is a little annoying but feels decent for being plastic. Another interesting thing I noticed is the cuff itself has the bolt sort of freely spinning instead of being torque tightened like pretty much every other skate out there. Those tend to become loose over time but this design has it's receiving end internally and that is what you need that special tool they give you for. Very clever design to prevent the cuff bolt from getting loose on you. I am going to skate them with the stock wheels and frames for a while but I have some Endless 90s and NN Ronins to try which should be fun. Thanks again for your review!

@@Martz604 thats awesome! As far as the stopping point for the strap, You think you can trim it? I personally hate the idea of having to make destructive adjustments like that, but if it works, it works, yknow? Thanks again for the view and comment!
@Martz6042 жыл бұрын
@@ianbuck_oh So my description wasn't very accurate I think. The strap works just fine and locks my foot down very well. The plastic receiver where the ratchet buckle is gets tighter and tighter until it can no longer physically go down any tighter and the mechanism stops engaging the teeth on the strap. The length is perfectly fine. It's mostly just a minor quirk I noticed. And you're welcome!

Hey man, very good review. I am about to buy a pair of these. Luckily they are the only pair that actually fit. I will pay twice the price of FR FRX and almost twice the price of RB Cruiser but I think they are worth it. Was really impressed by them at my local store. Getting a pair next week.
@ianbuck_oh2 жыл бұрын
Yea, i think fit and comfortability is the most important aspect in skates. First of all, what fun is skating if they aren’t enjoyable to wear or put on. Also, my thinking is if they fit well, that will translate to performance. You can have the nicest FR or Micro skates with endless frames but if they dont fit comfortably and ergonomically you won’t be able to reap the full benefits of your high end gear.

@ianbuck_oh Жыл бұрын
I've never tried the Twister 110, but it looks to have the same exact boot as the Twister Edge. You can get a frame and 110 wheels for the XT to make it 3 wheeled. So, I would say, if you want to skate 3 wheels right out of the gate, get the 110. The boot to the XT is extremely similar to the other Twister models, so unless you're comparing them side by side with a very detailed eye, it's likely you won't notice much difference anyway. Hope this helped!

I'm in search for my new skates and am considering this model. I have an old pair of RB90 from almost 10 year ago. I have two questions. 1. How can I figure out if my old frame is compatible with the xt model. I would want to keep my old frame, and try it out in the xt (90mm wheels) 2. How practical and durable is the bottom strap? I tried a pair of maxxum and I really don't like the straps on them. That's why I disqualified them in my selection.
@ianbuck_oh2 жыл бұрын
I don't have much experience in frames and how they fasten, but if I'm not mistaken, I think there's a universal attaching system unless otherwise stated. I know the Endless frames fit to the Twisters, so I suppose your RB frames should fit no problem. Personally, I think they're a good quality. I've definitely experienced some REAL flimsy straps (I'm looking at you, Razors Shift!) and I'm very happy with the durability of the 45 degree straps on my XTs.
