Before we get started, I say the word, 'three' a lot in this review and if you've been around the channel before, you'll know that because of my accent, I pronounce it as, 'free.' We aren't too good with our 'th' sounds in North/East London. No need for the grammar police to turn up in the comments section - I checked with them and as it's an accent thing we are all good haha. The reason the music cuts out when you zoom in is due to the fact that each ride can have its own music play set on a per ride basis. When you zoom in the main tune gets quiet and you'll begin to hear all the tunes for each of your rides.

on the old one I'd make beautiful parks that got really successful then block the exit and rig the rides to kill, charge people to use the bathroom, and replace all the staff with entertainers and the guests would be surrounded by puke and people in panda suits and once my fill of misery was complete I'd put every person on one square of land then raise the water and watch the alert message go insane listing all the guests that drown, I could have been the next Walt Disney

Oh Canada sure, I’m listing these in no particular order: Two Point Hospital, Project High Rise, Constructor, Big Pharma, Railway Empire. The upcoming Jurassic World Evolution complete edition (with all of the DLC included) is coming in November too. Basically this game with awesome dinosaurs. Hopefully one of these will pique your interest. Edit: additionally: Production Line and Drink Pro Tycoon.

I used to play these games A LOT on PC when I was younger. Highly recommend this game to anyone who loves simulation/Rollercoasters/theme parks, it's years of funs. Probably better to play on PC but this Still looks decent on Switch too.

Its just something about the switch form factor as an backup option compared to a pc and laptop. Don't get me wrong, the PC is the superior version but....the convenience of holding it in your hand when you sometimes don't have access to a desk to set up or a power socket to plug in. For me its also feels good to move the controller around with buttons and sticks....and I can hook the switch up to the tv with a pro controller..... I played a ton of this game on my laptop and I even got the free epic game store version for my laptops....but I paid full price for the switch version and I have no regrets.

@@knowledgeseeker4116 oh yeah, that's understandable. I just can't imagine not playing Rollercoaster tycoon with mouse and keyboard. Every function had a certain action mapped to the keyboard or mouse and you could build Rollercoasters so fast, delete tracks, etc with ease. This one just looks a bit less intuitive but it should work well enough.

It’s meant for a PC obviously and I’m okay with the controls but as a veteran player it’s better to play on PC. I got the the switch version bc I currently don’t have a PC hooked up at the moment and handheld perks too

Love your review. This game was an absolutely joy back in the day! I have to say I disagree with the audio score though. I always loved the fact that you can zoom out and get away from all the action and just enjoy for a second what you built so far then zoom back in into the noisier rides and her all the excitement of the screams and giggles. But yeah, I wasnt expect this to be GOTY anyway so fair enough LOL

Love games like this where you can build from scratch. Football game years ago where you could build an entire new stadium, set the burger van prices outside the ground and even call your opposition manager and offer a bung to throw the next game.

I did mention handheld (albeit briefly). Performance seems just as good based on the small parks I had whilst playing in handheld. Visuals are a little blurrier not certainly not an issue. One thing I didn't mention is that it doesn't have touch screen controls. Glen

One of my favorite games of all time . Purchased it right away after knowing it was released on Switch . I remember playing it on PC when you can literally put real songs from the artists that was saved on your PC into each rides and put your photos on the billboards . The cheats works on the Switch too ! Wish they can port Hotel Empire and Restaurant Empire as well .☺️💕🥰

Thank you for this review, added to my wishlist because I have too much to play right now. Really glad to see SwitchUp continue to give simulation games on Switch a fair shake. Too many Nintendo-centric sites just kind of ignore the genre even though Animal Crossing is one of the biggest gaming news of 2020. I guess they think with Animal Crossing the genre is covered. Not so, some of us sim fans prefer exactly what Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 or Cities Skylines offer.

My PC couldn`t handle the game so i never played it. On my grandfathers PC it worked but more like a slideshow and was not that good of an experience. So i`m kinda stoked that the game is now on switch and can`t wait to play it (and let`s never talk about other RCT Games that were released after the third) Great review as always :) When speaking about the music when zoomed in the focus is more on the crowd so you get a better feeling of being inside the park and when zoomed out you wouldn`t hear them speaking so music is playing. But surely it would be nice to listen to some music while zoomed in.

I played the original to death back in the day, and one feature that is missing from this is custom scenarios. Massive shame for me as that's all I used to play. Think of sandbox, but without unlimited money. I hope they add this in an update. Still bought the game though as even without that it's still amazing after all these years

Enjoying playing a classic on the big screen. Forever a huge fan of the early RCT series. But I have to say - does anyone else find it extremely annoying that there is no function to delete while constructing? You have to back out, re-select demolish tool, clear the object and then select coaster and keep constructing. There also seems to be no function for the coaster track to just cut into the ground while building. You have to again, back out and terraform, then come back and continue building the coaster. These features were in the PC version, and those two small improvements would make this a 10/10 for me.

I'm old enough to remember how much all the fans of the isometric RCT games hated this one when it came out. I thought it was fine, but still prefer 1 and 2 personally. Will definitely be picking this one up after I carve through a bit more of my backlog. Awesome review as always, thanks Glen!

I've been waiting for an rct3 remake for a decade and I can't believe it's on switch. Probably played rct for nearly 10,000 hours at this point (it's been 20 years already!) Glad this came out decently, looks like a great way to play on the go, albeit not as good as pc.
