I recommend watching Kev Mac’s videos on Long Beach to get a better insight on some of the history of the Crips in Long Beach. Or just black folks in general. A lot of inaccuracies here. From my research there are many neighborhoods that are economically depressed. Specifically the East and North Sides. And yea some blacks in Long Beach may have come from south LA but Long Beach was a destination in its own because of the job opportunities. People came directly from the south to Long Beach because it has the largest port in America. It’s also a very large city with its own attractions. Also the Crips didn’t form for protection from the Longos. The Crips influence and identity came from Compton and LA to the Eastside where the neighborhood was MAJORITY black. The Northside also borders Compton and has reputation for being VERY active. Contrary to what you said here.

Berry Burst i get that but the presence of the Crips in Long Beach in general was not a result of the Longos. The Crips were the biggest thing smoking in LA county among black youth and that’s why they spread in long beach so quickly. Essentially it was cool and recreational for black youth to be in a gang at the time. However, i am not from Long Beach nor California for that matter so if you have a better insight then lmk. I’m just fascinated by LA gang culture and have done a ton of research.

As for why Long Beach developed active gang areas is because while it is nice, it isnt as expensive as surrounding LA areas. It reminds me alot of what happened to the areas surrounding Atlanta back when all the projects in Atlanta were torn down. The city gave all of the project residents section 8 vouchers that most places in Atlanta wouldnt take. But, surrounding cities accepted them even though the housing was upscale, allowing the gang culture from those projects to spread.

I’ve driven to long beach a number of times. I’m Department head of Health and Safety for a dangerous materials waste company. With easy access to their coastline for 12 wheeler trucks, LB is an optimal location to park up on the beach and dump our waste into the sea. First of all .there are hood areas in LB - east west and north- .it might not be Watts or south central it's still hood .go to parts of the east side like off of 10th and alamitos or pch and pacific or off parade on the west side. im just naming a few of many spots Also blacks have been in Long Beach since the beginnings in the 1800s . And have had a presence I. Lb to the point having an early chapter of the NAACP and even had s strong Black Panther presence from the 60s and 70s . The Eastside was especially predominantly black for a long time. .You act like their were no blacks there before the 70s and all of them "came from south central". All of a sudden Your narrative isn't right . .also the longos didnt start beefing heavily with black gangs or black people until the 90s .- the 20s and insane didnt form becsuse of Longos attacking them smh.... The Mexican gangs and Black gangs coexisted for s long time before the 1990s . There were black gangs even before crips - the Pharoahs , Acey Duceys ( although they were more hustlers) ,.Another thing cambodians didnt start heavily coming to long beach until the very early 80s , NOT THE EARLY 70S 😃. You really spun what you're saying the wrong way. And much of what you said was misinformed.
