ROLLING BLACKOUTS have a very good (I dare to say fantastic!!)guitar sound in their songs. As I'm already 55 years old, they remind me of another Australian Indie group named SUNNY BOYS at the early 80's!!!!

It occurs to me, after playing this song on repeat for hours on end, that RBCF is the natural heir to Teenage Fanclub.
@thomasford66054 жыл бұрын
Never thought that until now. Sweet Harmonies, three singers, twin guitars, summer vibes. Foot tapping rhythms. Both great live as well.
@craigsb924 жыл бұрын
I can get on board with this. RBCF have a bit more nervous energy and zip to them than Teenage Fanclub but I definitely get the comparison.

I spent a day in Newport Beach CA recently with some friends who I’ve been quarantining with, and we’d scheduled a dinner somewhere in town before driving back home to LA. Come to find out because of a heatwave, California has been going through rolling blackouts, one of which had hit the restaurant where we’d made reservations. Immediately, this song got stuck in my head, and I played “sideways to new Italy” on a loop during our drive home. Suffice to say, “Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever,” which until then had just been the name of a band I really like, was incredibly specific to our group’s situation: rolling blackouts? Check. Coastal? Check. Fever? Unfortunately given Covid-19, Check. Fevers are rightfully on everybody’s mind these days. Kudos to this band for existing, making great music, and providing an oddly specific soundtrack to a day in my life. Probably not going to forget that serendipity anytime soon. Hope everybody here can find silver linings in these tough times - maybe the music can help. Much love.

Really Great song! I discovered you thanks to a cool pub in Edinburgh with surprisingly good taste for indie music. I have been listening to this one on loop for days, now. The guitar solo carries so much joy with it that it's a shame it doesn't last longer

Well they don’t know how hard it is To keep the story straight When you’ve been running close all night You’ve been dicing with fate Is it any wonder We’re on the outside Falling like thunder From the sky Call it by its name when You sing low Hold it like a knife against you Is it any wonder it stings Sun is in our eyes I keep my vision tight At all the deep scenes A stationary boy in a moving daydream Down on the corner watching over Liquid crystal simulation Like a ghost At the service station In some far off fencepost nation Is it any wonder That we’re on the outside Falling like thunder From the sky Call it by its name now Hold it like a knife Is it any wonder it stings Sun in your eyes And we’re changing with the season Is it any wonder That we’re on the outside Falling like thunder From the sky Call it by its name when you sing low Hold it like a knife against you Is it any wonder it stings Sun is in our eyes Red light is fading Caught in the moonrise Leaves fall faster Even your bright eyes Red light is fading Caught in the moonrise Leaves fall faster Even your bright eyes Are changing with the season
