7:02 The S530F's in War Thunder actually got a seeker change recently. Haven't seen anyone talk about it. They got some chaff rejection modeled, and it appears to change in effectiveness depending on your radar mode, with Pulse being the weakest and MTI/Doppler being the strongest. The chaff rejection appears to work somewhat similar to how Aim-9M's in WT are modeled with tracking suspension. Edit: They will still go stupid from any angle if you absolutely spam chaff at an unholy rate. But if you're just going at maybe one pop per second, maybe two, the missile will just not care

I did actually notice them being a ton better even a couple months back but I attributed it entirely to MTI being added, didn’t realise they’d actually changed the missiles themselves. Welcome change either way, they were dead weight before.

@@Bullet4MyEnemy More or less yeah. I usually carried them in SIM or RB just to lob at people to test if they were paying attention. It always cracked me up to see someone notch, not chaff, get hit anyway, and then accuse me of hacking. Now, I'd expect the F.1 in SIM to actually be kinda scary in some brackets since pulse doesn't give a launch tone to people right now

Awesome sortie! Ive just got a few suggestions that may streamline your F1 outings: -Regarding radar usage, only use 60 azimuth scan with 1 bar. 30 Az for 4 bar, which imo is better in PVP. -Use the AMEN button above the autopilot buttons to reduce the amount of RWR contacts, making identification easier. ELIM only shows contacts locking, helpful in a furball. -Countermeasures have programs now, reccomend you use them in SARH meta (flare and chaff are diff programs, dw about jetting all the flares(or just switch between them with hotas binds)) -There is an auto-firing switch for 530s, great for ground hugging shenanigans Other than these relatively minor things, awesome work sir.

The most common mistake players do whenever they choose the Mirage-F1 is that they load it with two Super Matra 530F instead of only one under the fugelage and moreover whenever they are attacked from a disavantageous position they forget to jettison this single missile. This isn't neither a Mirage-2000C nor an F-16C/block-50+ adv. to be armed to the teeth. One had better provided his aircraft with only 2/3 of the internal fuel contend too so as to maximise performance. This aircraft is one step up as compared with the decent F-5E, but the stress should fall on the word ONE !

On Enigma’s server with the F.1CE I absolutely agree, though the missiles used there aren’t 530Fs, just the shitty, fat, slow as balls, useless 530s, they don’t have the performance to justify what they rob from the jet’s performance. The thing on ECW is that no one really has any ranged missiles with an all aspect launch capability, everything that does is point restricted so they’re rare to have to deal with. But in a heavily Fox-1 focused environment like BlueFlag 80s, having 2x 530Fs (the sleek, much faster, longer ranged and effective in general ones) is necessary imo, I likely wouldn’t have got 3 kills had I only taken a single central Bad530 - especially if I’d also still had 9Julis. Even if you took Magic IIs, a single centreline crap 530 and a reduced fuel load, you’re still at a performance disadvantage against most things you’ll encounter, you have a worse avionics suite and fewer, less effective weapons, I think your chances would be worse than how I played it; and I have a good few hours flying the F-5 on the same server under my belt as supporting evidence - though I haven’t used any of it for a video.

Mirage f1 is the goat. Cannot wait for the mirage f1m or the kfir or mig23 r24s are gonna be wild on it. I fly it on ddcs going up againt aim120s and pl12s strapped to su27s and 33s but once in a while when flown right I can pull a nasty kill with them fox 1s.
