I sadly missed the chance to see the Rolling Stones before they were famous. I was 15 and my sister was 18. She had been following them for some time on the local scene around Guildford and Richmond, and invited me go with her to see them. It was to be my first outing on the "scene" so I had to be dressed fashionably. I had a collarless shirt in RAF blue and blue jeans which were both fashionable at the time. Then I looked at my feet and the only shoes I had were my school Oxfords!! Of course I couldn't be seen on the "scene" dressed like that, so I never went and I never got to see the Stones! Would have been brilliant and something to tell my grandchildren about! But there you go. Life is full of missed chances!

My mother had the chance to see them in 1968 and she got sick w/ the flu and choose not to go. 😲😨☹😢😭😤😠😡 SMH. If I were her I would have gone anyways. I just would of doctored myself up w/ some meds. So what if I had got some people sick. I would of went and enjoyed myself and had the time of my life.

The actual performance that night had 50 policeman in front of the stage keeping girls from charging in. While standing behind one of the policeman, Mick was grabbed by the legs by one girl and pulled into the pit in front of the stage and landed flat on his back. Mick quickly got back up on the stage, while the girl yelled out "I touched him!" Yes, it was that manic! (This was from Bill Wyman's book "Stone Alone."

Dubbed on not live concert footage. Either that or Ian Stewart was behind the curtains playing piano. I saw then in Edinburgh on that tour. "Saw them" was right. Couldn't hear a thing for girls screaming. Peter and Gordon, Millie, Dave Berry and Freddie and the Dreamers and others were on the bill. There was an argument who was to be top of the bill. Stones or Freddy? Freddy and the Dreamers won! The Beatles were on the following month. I was offered free tickets by a girl that worked at the cinema. Crazy but true I turned them down. I was a Stones fan!
