Take 3 minutes of your life and look at this video. You will hear one of the most emotional guitar solos ever. Played by Keith Richards, of course. Just before he hit the stage, he was told that his child, only a few weeks old, had died. Except that tragedy, he survived 10 years of heroin and he drank more than you and me swam over. He survived arrestings, jail and countless other dramas.

@@dmzabo3914 And he is a Pirate! LOL I saw the Stones in July 75 in San Fran. Ronnie had just joined the band and as you saw in the video the great Billy Preston played Keyboards. Too bad in this video they did not show any of the band except Keith, Mick and you can see Billy behind Mick. Both Mick and Billy are on Keyboards here. Classic. This song is a gem. And yes Keith Richard kills it here. Wow

Keith just got the call from Anita that his son passed before heading on stage, and Keith said he must go on or he would’ve shot himself. Marlon was only 7 so Keith wanted to shield him. Truly a great performance by Keith

nomadtraveller100 yes, i think so, too. the lead wah-wah that Mr. Richards plays is simply transcendent . . . it takes one to a beautiful place that can only exist in the soul of an artist. hope all is well and greetings from Tokyo.

Dejan Cerski we are musically kindred spirits, this fantastic performed song is a daily ritual for me and "the pick me up of all pick me ups" Mick's out of this world vocal delivery and Keef's "hairs on the neck" wailing guitar, 1976 is very personal to me lost my dad (RIP) March 17th ( it's also Patti's birthday) but had tickets got for 21st and 22nd May Earls Court London, soo so impressed went to see em the third night ( black market ticket only cost 30 sterling back then. Every single song was brill from Honky-tonk the opener hand of fate hey Negrita hot stuff and Mick at the piano in tortoise blue jacket singing Fool to Cry left an endelible mark on me Those killer performances will never be beaten amazing that they are still out there doing it and still brilliance 2022 Paris last week was fantastic, I was at the 2nd Hyde Park July 3rd gig, enjoyed yer comment hope u liked mine🎸🔥☘️

One thing the “Stones Purists” (they were best from Beggars to Exile) never realized is that they play black music. The purists always think the Stones were a stoner band because Keith defined the rock n roll star and look that they all mimicked. They just wanna talk about what Mick Taylor added to them live and so on. They piss on Brian & Woody and can’t handle that they’ve evolved from 63 to 82 largely on the back of great black music (blues, r&b, gospel, reggae, funk, disco) so when they changed it up after exile, the purists thought they lost their way. I’m an Exile album guy and they were never better live then With Mick Taylor, but their best singles were with Brian, plus with Brian they never experimented more, some of those 75/76 shows were awesome, the early Ronnie records actually are quite good for the breadth. Again I love the Mick Taylor we, but it does sound similar throughout. Even Taylor got board. My point, by this time in 76, they are 14 years on and have gone through 3 eras and they still are cookin. Maybe the peak is in the past, but even then or now, tell me a band 16 years on who jammed like this? So chill out everyone

Ha, yup! Look at early Stones album covers, and you'll see Keith is listed as "Keith Richard" on all of them. Oldham thought it sounded more "pop", plus Keith had issues with his father and didn't want to associate with him for a time in his youth. I think he went back to using "Richards" in the mid-to-late '70s.
