@@truckerkevthepaidtourist Depending on what other songs they had to fill out a double, I'd bet since Exile On Main Street had just been released the prior year, with lackluster reviews of it, they wouldn't have wanted to release two in a row. Charlie Watts = Greatest Groove Drummer in all of R&R History. The GOAT. GHS was a terrific album and often gets overlooked because Exile On Main Street and Sticky Fingers got so much critical and commercial exposure. Mick Taylor brought massive mojo to those three Stones albums. Say what you will, but the band never scaled these heights after his departure. Not knocking Ronnie who was a safe pair of hands in that transition period, but Mick Taylor was in an entirely different league to Woody. That's just a fact!
@peach4954 жыл бұрын
Everyone likes to tout how the Stones are Mick & Keths band. They're the primary craftsman of the Stones sound. That may be true but you can identify a specific sound in the 3 different Stones configurations. Although the glimmer twins sound permeates their entire catalog, the early Stones with Brian Jones doesn't sound like the middle Stones with Mick Taylor, nor the currant lineup with Woody. All 3 have a distinctly different sound than each other. This points to each of these great guitarist have their stamp on the Rolling Stones sound. Great classic material throughout but the really great shit is the Mick Taylor years. The last LP I bought from them was Some girls.

@Gumshoe Beaumont Hey I know he was on smack, coke and so on. Smack 70-80.But the fact that he looks and behave drugged is nowhere. It's the music that counts. Of course Love You Live aint as good as Ya'Ya and so on. But It's a record! Matters how it's recorded and mixed. Mocambo they did several overdubs on later, when mixing, because at those 2 gigs they did'nt sound so good. But if you find the video of the second Paris show from 76,you will here how good they sound and specially Keith play . He really goes for it. Big differece compared to the show the day before. And with bands who tour, they are better some nights, some nights they can be downright bad. And the 75 tour I've read many rewiews that give them and specially Keith really high praise. That you look really strung out but plays, really, good is cool. Also like 78 Us tour. But records and tv are very different than really hearing and see them live. Specially if we talk 70's the tech side, recording were primitive. Today it's better. Haven't seen them live since 90. Shit I wrote a lot..... What do you think about them live In this millenium?
