@avoclcado3 жыл бұрын
Hi!) It's true many people are mentioning kpop here in comments (including myself) but it's mainly because lots of us actually came from stanning kpop groups (like I heard about RQ for the first time from a fellow CLC fan, lots of people are Dreamcatcher stans) but most of us totally understand that Rolling Quartz is completely different, it's k-rock and band. In my opinion it's really great that RQ shows us completely different music and not only! I love how they have live concerts here, how they communicate with Diadems and how they can express themselves with that kind of freedom kpop groups under major agencies are not allowed to have. All this is completely different spirit and I hope as RQ gains more and more popularity they still stay like this! To be honest I'm so done with kpop agencies ruining talented musicians... Or making them seem not what they actually are. Say smth they don't want to say, not allowing say smth they want to say. I really loved the spirit of indie bands!!!!! This is like fresh air, freedom, power. And in terms of music I think it's ok to listen to both k-rock or k-pop depending on one's mood and what's going in life ^^ But for sure they can't be compared to each other directly being different genres and different spirit.
@BelllieveWav3 жыл бұрын
@@avoclcado And the best thing is they actually write and compose their own stuff
@avoclcado3 жыл бұрын
@@BelllieveWav So true!!! To be honest, some kpop groups can also write and compose their songs themselves like G-idle but for most of them even if they do that - their agency doesn't allow to release it... It's so stupid and depressing. So having freedom to create own music and songs and express talent and own vision is reeeeaaally great!! Btw for those Diadems who don't like kpop at all it might seem not proper to talk about it too much but we mostly are way too delighted how new this is for us, how cool and fresh! But the good side is that we stream our fav groups MVs a lot, vote, etc. cause the competition there is fierce so even though RQ is totally different from them, we can try to support girls that known ways for us as well. Like a good streaming party has never harmed anyone 🤪
@BelllieveWav3 жыл бұрын
@@avoclcado well true that. RQ is a refreshing sight and sound for Korea because female rock bands in Korea is very much under appreciated i know Dream Catcher does have rock vibe but an all female rock band is rare in Korean. One thing I must say about female rock band is the member can be carefree in so many ways - they can dress however they want, bare their tattoos, don't have to act cute all the time, be bold and reckless and express their toughness through music. Femininity is not all about revealing outfit and cute act. This band represent a new perspective of women in k-music.
@vopy483 жыл бұрын
Yep I agree...even kinda funny or something, that when playing in a Rock band one so often Have to dress That way (copied from earlier rock bands etc.), Not just the way one likes/is naturally. ;-)
@NosKryme3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately even for a rock band with an image that's completely opposite of an idol group, the restrictions are STILL there. There is STILL an image they have to uphold that is designated by their company. We just don't see it because we identify revealing tattoos, and spunk as 'freedom'. The only ones truly free are indie bands. Otherwise, they will still have to stick with a dress concept and look a certain way, I mean it's a little hard to believe that five people decided to turn up, all wearing leather, and matching chokers with hoops on them. You can take a look at label-less Korean band and see that no one REALLY matches in clothing. What you're seeing is how Korean entertainment interprets, and refines a concept for rock. So basically, it's not that much different from idolhood, it's just you're seeing the confinement of another music genre. Sorry if that was worded badly.
@voyapion30103 жыл бұрын

Rolling Quartz, be proud to be a Girl Band and be ready to kick the door like a boss because you are the next Rock'n'rool Queen. Love you from France ! :)

When AoA debuted, I was expecting something like this because they hyped up how the members could play instruments. But they abandoned that concept real quick lmao. Rock and metal isn't as popular in Korea, so I'm hoping with groups like Dreamcatcher and Rolling Quartz (a reference to the Rolling Stones?) we'll see more bands like this gaining popularity. There are several mellow/soft rock korean bands but I need more upbeat and heavier sounding ones! Especially all-female groups. I stan these ladies already
@-EchoesIntoEternity-3 жыл бұрын
you should give VINCIT a listen, another krock band not all females but the vocalist/guitarist is female and awesome!
@chiefzombie91843 жыл бұрын
Perfectly put into words. I love the k-rock that I’ve found like Onewe and N. Flying but these girls are already going so heavy into it, it’s just what I’ve been looking for. Now the fact that they’re all female is just the icing on the cake.
@edess40853 жыл бұрын
Perhaps reference to Rolling Stone but first this is the merge of 2 groups Rolling Girls and Rose Quartz

THIS i really hope they don’t abandon this concept because if im not listening to kpop its rock music and this fits into all the genres i love all together

I think that the reason we don't have that much k/bands with purely rock sound is this genre isn't popular in Korea. :( They often write music for general public taste... But Korea have a lot of talented bands and groups which slay rock (like Dreamcatcher, N.flying, Ftisland, Day6 and of course Rolling Quartz) People are just tasteless when they sleeping on them :/ But here we are k/rock fans and we should promote them more 🙂🤘💞
@notmybusiness30553 жыл бұрын
Rock was a widespread thing in Korea in the 60’s up until the 80’s but the government began to limit its exposure and some incident happened on live television (the band went naked) that made the gp stray away from the genre all together.

@@notmybusiness3055 I heard about this incident. But even if k/rock isn't mainstream these days I believe that talent is talent and people will recognize it. 🙂 People who loves rock music. :) I just wished for these groups to get more opportunities to promote yourself because they deserve this just like K-pop groups. :)

The first thing I said when I heard that a female band was going to debut was: well, I expect great and strong vocals, capable of exceeding the volume of the instruments. Well, apparently you are listening to me, right? I loved this song, I am extremely surprised by your talent. I'll be watching you closely, good luck girls, fighting!
