Massive Darkness | Unboxing | Part #2

What a GREAT series on Massive Darkness.. Right behind you on the idea of combining this to create MORE Zombicide Black Plague adventures by adding it all together. We bought the Black Plague kickstarter when it first came out (and deliberately kept it mostly all sealed and still in its packaging.... so when we got round to it, it would all feel new and like Christmas): and then we bought Green Horde from Amazon, and then I slowly picked off many of the expansions. Then did the same with Massive Darkness. We had to conclude our other focussed project first (a long.. long term D&D campaign, which has now reached its end) So now my gaming group can FINALLY get down to putting in the time and dedication required to appreciate this new project properly in all its glory. Your video series if fantastic and is really setting the tone and getting me in the mood for immersing into this game and all its myriad of combinations. Thank you for such a complete and detailed series of videos. Its like a new favourite film hitting the screen, and my wife and I will enjoy every second of it.

Great video, Adam! I'm looking forward to see your play through. The crystal and lava tiles are going to be released at retail. One of my favorite OLGS has them listed as "Massive Darkness: A Quest of Crystal and Lava (EN)" and it contains "6 New Crystal & Lava Tiles 9 Massive Darkness Tiles" and "1 A Quest of Crystal and Lava Campaign Booklet". It's basically what the extra tile packs were for Zombicide with the added extra and for what seems like a cheaper price.

i played tutorial and first scenario. I think it's amazing fun. The rules are clean and simple. The game is definitely not the hardest solo (so far - and i rolled really well), but you can change difficulty settings in various ways easily. Can't wait to watch your playthrough. I started painting and it's going to take months to complete this "massive" game.

I played my first game and enjoyed it. Like you said, it's quick and very fun. It feels much different and a nice level up in complexity from Zombicide for those looking for a good entry level dungeon crawler. There is scaling for difficulty if you wish to make it more punishing with house rules. I got cornered at the end of the tutorial with two heroes and died three times fighting the same enemies. A Solo Setup is next in the que and will be coming very soon! :)

Thanks for watching Mark! It does have a really nice light dungeon crawl feel to it that I think is going to be a great fit solo and with others. A notch up in complexity from Zombicide which is going to find a great audience. Don't worry the Sword & Sorcery playthrough will continue without a doubt! Glad to hear you're enjoying it. Beside Sword and Sorcery this is one of my to buy games for this year.Nice unboxing btw.When you Play the game record not the prologue there are a lot of this, please show us some advanced Scenario.

Thanks Alter Troll! I did my best with the massive amount of stuff that came with this game. For now I'm going to do the Prologue. I'm entertaining the idea of doing Quest #1 as well thanks to you! We'll see :)

You may be able to grab one second hand now that it’s been out for awhile. More bang for your buck. Which is good with this one as it’s a monster!

I just watched this video. Your comment on the size of the boxes misses a major point. If the boxes were just large enough for the figures, it would be pretty small on the shelf, making it harder to be seen, and easier to be stolen. Also, the molded plastic to hold the figures needs some excess size to hold them securely and not rattle around.

To be honest, even though I understand the reasons for the big boxes it doesn't mean I like them once I get them home. I always condense games like Zombicide and Massive Darkness as much as possible once I get them to make it easier to transport to conventions and game demos.

Exactly! I also toss the small boxes and try to condense it down. I think that's one thing they need to work on in terms of storage. I don't mind the big ones. It's the small ones that aren't useful. :)
