The massive deterioration of MTV already started in 1997/98 when Viacom bought MTV at the stock exchange + all these silly heterosexual dating shows/crappy talk shows started to increase on MTV. So Mark Foster complains about something (today's crappy TV) which he + his band take part in + profit from. He should know that EVERY kind of TV has always had crappy elements since TV has been existing (early 50s), it's a mass medium designed for stupid people; too: The whole interview is hypocritical. And what do I read in Wikipedia? "Foster founded the band in 2009 after spending several years in Los Angeles as a struggling musician and working as a commercial jingle writer." AHA ! Jingle writer...the same hypocrisy like Mark Wahlberg who found out that he's a "confessing Catholic". By the way: This interview WAS in 2011.

Just looking at this video watch?v=SLK7hrRijes, I remember thinking what could've been had they actually written about life instead of violence. and that is where we agree, but i would suggest to anyone to seek out the better sides of the genre, and the artists who add to that are plentiful in all aspects: party rap (harmless and fun), conscience rap (a plethora is available), many indie rappers (minus the hyped up ones,i mean independent and innovative) are creating and sharing new ideas. I think we honestly agree in the end. I just think scapegoating one genre, when the same can be found in others, is unfair.Plus worse is on the news:)
