Charles-François Daubigny (15 February 1817 - 19 February 1878) was a French painter, one of the members of the Barbizon school, and is considered an important precursor of impressionism.
He was also a prolific printmaker, mostly in etching but also as one of the main artists to use the cliché verre technique.

Yes, there are two lovely Daubigny pictures in the Frick Collection. However, they are not currently exposed, they are: "Dieppe" (1877), (Not On View). That was a long time ago when I saw that in the Frick. The Daubigny was next to a big Whistler lady portrait. Just at the entrance of the gallery. Quite nostalgic thinking about it.
