One of the most underrated players in history, he had it all, dribbling, speed, agility, powershot, accuracy, vision, passing, he even scored with headers being of short heigh, because he always knew where to stand... and to think that for the spanish media and Tata Martino he wasn't good enough and benched him... a couple of weeks later, he was owning the Premier League, the best league of all. I don't know if it was racism, to protect Messi's image or the fact that he elliminated Spain from the world cup, but football was unfair to him.

Era muy bueno Alexis, por eso desde niño le apodaban “dilla” (por ar-dilla o squirrel en inglés). Un quiebre amoroso lo afectó y bajó mucho su nivel. Pero el siempre fue un guerrero y luchó hasta volver a brillar en el futbol. Elías Figueroa jugó en el mejor campeonato del mundo de aquella época. Con desconocidos como Jaiziñho..Pelé.. Un Peñarol en su pick en la historia junto a Spencer...único jugador que se ha intentado tomar un aeropuerto para que no parta....único jugador que detuvo un entrenamiento de Brazil al enterarse de su presencia e ir a dar la mano...junto a quintano anularon en Moscú a una gran selección soviética. No existía la abundancia de imágenes que distorsiona pero los futboleros leén...se forman con innumerables revistas..no puedes compara a Elías (olimpo) con Alexis un jugador excelente.
