Zizou easily. The main difference is, Berba mostly just traps the ball with the first touch. Zidane literally dribbled people with the first touch only and opened spaces for himself. It's wasn't just about getting the ball under control. He was an absolute master of the first touch, along with many other skills. It's Zidane and it's not even particularly close imo.

Bergkamp and Baggio have the best 1st touch imo. Also, probably Messi, though he doesn't really do spectacular 1st touches. With Zidane, I loved the one he did against Portugal in 2000, when he chested the ball, while spinning 360, and the one with Juve, where he dribbled through 2 defenders, however I still feel, Zidane is a tiny bit overrated.

Depends on the system and the manager. e.g. CAMs in a 3-5-2 make fewer runs than the 9, and stay home in the center to keep from crowding the wings. Pirlo as a CAM early in his career played this way. And I'm definitely not saying Dimi should've been a CAM _for Ferguson,_ by the way.

Nope. They're both totally different players. Zizou could master in attacking as a striker, but excelled as a playmaker / attacking midfielder. Berbatov was a great striker, but if he tried as a midfielder, he'd be nowhere near to Zizou.

Another important point is he did that in big matches. For proof, just go back to the 2006 World Cup quarterfinal France VS Brazil match. That 2006 Brazil team had Ronaldinho and Kaka and Zizou made them look like amateurs. That is how good Zidane was.
