I can't believe this all happened 15 years ago!!! I clearly remember carrying out an audit at Knutsford Court Hotel on the day of the finals. While Romaine and the other finalists sat in the lobby talking, I bravely walked over, congratulated all of them and told Romaine that I was declaring him the winner. I took a picture with him and told him that when he got "big" in the business, I might never get the chance to have another picture with him. Seet deh now, him tun real star!!!

My wife and I are in awe of this moment because although we live in Queens, NY, we remember the moment when you were declared the winner of Rising Star, 2007. It brings tears to our eyes listening to you recount the journey, coming from your community which is so close to Nine Miles where Bob Marley hails from. Surprisingly, your future wife, Liz, was also watching and cheering for you, never realizing that she would be sitting next to you recounting the story. This could be a movie. It was FANTASTIC! I have been following your journey from back in 2005. When I did an evening class at your former high school I used to sit the class at an upstairs room and I could hear the rehearsal you guys were doing .you were singing a Percy sledge and I ask one of the student who that person was and they told me romaine .goose bumps got me and I said to the person there is a rising star ,she said you were too young to enter .I watched all of the all together sing and there you were . there was no doubt in my mind when you got through to rising stars I knew you were the winner .2007was a memorable year .my tv wasn't showing so clear but the sound was perfect and the entire district was glued on a Sunday night .am happy and proud of your growth you are a born 🌟 just keep it clean and you be àmong the legends . I picked out Christopher Martin from when he made the top 10 .my kids would say mommy you good so.that taxi man you mentioned was Gods angel sent to take you .there are good people still on earth .I strongly believe that .

It has always been the humility that has made me want to know more about you, the first time I ever heard your voice and looked at your music video soul provider. I remember saying to myself, this young man is down to earth, he sings from deep within, raw and real. Then I was searching for all I could find. Next I wanted to know about the mother who raised this son because I thought "this woman did something right", why only the mother I thought of? Because I was a single mother raising four boys.
