Can I ask about the saddle? It appears to me to be a cover over a modern “English” GP saddle am ai correct? Either way, who provides your saddles and do you have and period correct bridles? Can you point me in the direction of a manufacturer? Thanks in advance.

Yes, the saddle in this video is a covered english gp. In the Uk a gentleman by the name of Peter Connolly used to make saddles, but he no longer does so now. Some of the group have some of his saddles and there are a few floating around second hand. I dont know of any current uk manufacturers, i currently have a roman saddle on order from marcin ruda, who makes historical saddles, but he is very busy currently.

Not really, thats a misunderstanding based on events that were specific to the Napoleonic and Spanish Wars but outside conflicts like that height wasn't too different - Romans average height was 5'7"/170cm
