Only 2/3 ways you view it. On one point Billy and Stu started it as they are the people responsible for the game others wanted and the reason all the other scream movies except the 2nd and 3rd film exist, actually just 3rd. Roman wasn’t responsible for the Woodsboro Massacre he was responsible for the death of Maureen and awakening Billy’s psycho side. The 2nd way you view it is outversal, Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson, the director, creator, and writer of the film were the actual ones responsible for the series. And in the 3rd way it’s inversely as Roman Made Billy psycho but wasn’t the one responsible for the massacre but still is responsible for Maureen’s death and then that made Billy responsible for the Woodsboro Massacre
