His reaction to the person who was checking to see if he was OK says it all. He's completely broken both morally and emotionally. Too traumatised by neglection to be able to accept kindness and too far gone as a person to even recognise it.

I read it more like he doesn't want someone so beneath him (socially) touching him. You know how Roman makes fun of poor people and all marginalized groups, some random from the streets making contact even if to help him is disgusting to Roman, he doesn't see them as real people, they don't matter to him. I bet if it had been someone like Gerri trying to help him he'd been fine with it, it's what he's been seeking from her this season, her comfort but she refused to and her rejections made him angry because he's that spoiled, he felt she owed him that so even Gerri that Roman sees as a "real person that matters" is just a tool for him to make himself feel better. She did well not talking to him even if she did feel sorry for him at the funeral, he did look at her before going out but he knows she doesn't want to talk to him.

he was humiliated early in the episode when he cried while trying to deliver his "awesome" speech that he prepared for. People recorded his crying and humiliation and were playing it at the wake. Feeling humiliated, Roman went and looked for the 'prize' that his father gave him for humiliation, a beating. He sought punishment for not being what his father wanted, he clearly was abused and he went to go seek his pain.

Roman got visibly excited when someone shoved into him, and then latched onto the larger dude who didn't ignore him like others did. he finally got rewarded by an elbow from said dude, yet no satisfaction of a proper beat up came. he curled on the ground making zero effort to get back up expecting to be trampled on, instead he got extended a helping hand, at which point he finally gave up because the illusion of harm was broken by the stranger's attempt at comfort. such an incredibly devastating scene made possible by the perfect choreograph, performance, and camera work.

Not even his own brother could put the buisness end of things aside to let him grieve on the night of his Dad's funeral. He had to remind him and kick him while the "dog's down," that he fucked up the one thing he thought he was good for at the company.
