Roman Khrennikov Fights Through Parallel-Bar Pull - 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games

Watch Roman Khrennikov fight through the final five minutes of Parallel-Bar Pull, Test 11 of the 2023 NOBULL CrossFit Games.
Heading into the final day of the 2023 CrossFit Games, Khrennikov was on the hunt to become the Fittest Man on Earth.
After suffering a foot injury in the first test Sunday morning, Khrennikov decided to try and finish.
With the CrossFit community cheering him on, Khrennikov fought through heavy jump rope double-unders, parallel-bar traverses, and sled pulls - on one foot.

Roman 🔥 No disrespect to Adler, but as Froning said, these last 2 events were home runs for Roman. Not for the injury, RK is likely the champ this year. Of course, that's not how sports work, injuries are part of it. Roman's performance in this event to finish out the games will go down in CF history as legendary, especially if he's still able to podium.

I get the message but we all know that if this is what CrossFit is all about it is unhealthy. Constantly pushing your body far over the limits is not good. That's why we see so many injured and burnt out athletes in CrossFit.

Man this is so unfair, Roman Khrennikov could've won.. Just like Rich Froning said, these last two tests were two home runs for Roman Khrennikov. Jeffrey Adler finished 7th on Test 11 and 5th in the final Test. And we all know Roman would've smashed these two test and take back his lead cause there were only two points separating Adler and him before Test 11 and before he got injured. Jeffrey Adler is the 2023 Fittest man on Earth but by default.. In the end, Roman Khrennikov basically made 10 tests out of 12 and still made it to the podium in #3 place, he could've won the whole thing if it wasn't for his injury. I cannot wait to see Roman come back strong in 2024!! 💪

Seeing a lot of people commenting that injuries are a part of sport and that Roman is a warrior, and that is all true, but why was he even in a position to get injured. After watching the first round where the sandbags were thrown over the log and no one was moving them to the side, I immediately knew there was a potential for an injury even worse that Scott Panchik's a couple years ago on the rope. Why were the athletes even put in position to potentially get hurt. Having volunteers move those bags to the side during the event would not have changed anything and would have protected the athletes.
