Keep in mind, Roman has had 1 match, a tag match, since his return, and prior to the finish at CJ, he had been hit with at least 1 Samoan spike, then drilled with Jacob Fatu's double jump moonsault, then hit with 2 more Samoan Spikes before being pinned, then after the match he ate a Helluva Kick to boot. So Roman is still next level, but anyone drilled with so many finishers in a short time is getting pinned. I admit I didn't think WWE would do it, but I don't disagree with why it was done. The new bloodline, and Solo especially, need to be strong, and maintain as a credible threat. Also the recently reunited OG Bloodline needed to be shown as not being yet on the same page. Both of these story beats were hit in this match. This is Roman's redemption arc, he will, in my opinion and speculation, be the hero of this Bloodline Civil War story. No one should be wondering against who, he called himself the Final Boss already.

The new bloodline is always about to lose until Jacob Fatu just starts eating everyone😂. I understand the hype of Jacob and the unseriousness of the new bloodline but I feel Solo character has a deep dive than surface level. Such as tbh Roman was always the using OG Bloodline to boost himself and keep the title. But Solo is really about the family 1st, because if he wasn’t he would not have kicked out Jimmy and Paul Heyman. Also Solo was doing his own thing and some good stuff in NXT, but came to the main roster because Roman needed help. He sacrificed himself for the family. He also gave up the NXT North American Championship and never challenged for it again because the family needed him on the main roster.

I say it was the right decision to have Roman get pinned by Solo and the aftermath following the match was perfect for the storyline now that Sami Zayn is added to the fray. Solo and his Bloodline winning was needed for sake of the story. This can also cause friction too within the OG Bloodline even between Jey and Roman with Sami figuring out what he wants to do in this situation

While i was surprised Roman took the pin in the match i do think it was needed especially for the New Bloodline needed to look stronger than they had been. The reason he wasnt pinned for a long time was because of interference and him losing here could show his dynamic with the usos are not on the same page so their teamwork had enough of a hole for Solo's bloodline to win. Cody planted n watered some of those seeds during their stadium promo. Jey entrance n Roman being there in person, added doubts. Him doubting himself, cuz the fan base doubted him, is the real core of OTC character. Doubt n betrayal are what made him who he is, n are the factors they play off in his stories.
