It's the tone of voice that's radically improved since this promo for me. With his current character as the Head of the Table, I feel his vocals being more grunted and lower help him sound sharper, and it really works. Here his vocals have a higher tone like he's trying to sound cool, and it just feels off to me. They really miscast him for years. Like I feel him being a face would have started out fine if they presented him to care more about The Shield ending, but he really comes off as such a natural heel to the point where I don't see how he becomes a face again.
@TAK1997
@TAK1997 Жыл бұрын
The thing is, the Tribal Chief gimmick works as a Face, too. He just has to redirect the vitriol to his Heel opponents. He can even still ask the fans to acknowledge him, because they'll eat it up. Or maybe change it up to "Insert town acknowledges the Tribal Chief, right?"

You are right. What I noticed in his promos nowadays is that he can rely with confidence on his ability to improvise if needed. In the beginning it always felt like he was reading of a script. As the time went by he progressively became more and more natural, confident about the whole thing. Mindset is the most important thing when it comes to promos.

This man was always in God mode since Nxt days. It was early so the company didn't wanted him to be that way. They had enough starts to provide goods. They showed him as a desperate character who wants everybody to like him. Back in 2020, Roman changed himself. Looks changed, mic skills were improved. But the one damn thing that hasn't changed is that "He still doesn't get things done by himself" Maybe the company still wants him to be that way (Lately, it truns out he's an actor)🤫

In the space of 10 years a lot can change. He used to be so incredibly robotic and cringey on the mic when his solo career started, and for the longest time he just never seemed confident in his work. Now he's like a whole different man.

You know its interesting when you think about it Roman and rock had the same struggles getting over as faces and both changed the game of wrestling becoming heels and letting them natural self's show to where there cheered like a babyface. Booking is everything you can tell a big difference in how he talks here and now he even seems like he more relaxed this whole run as the big dawg was kinda forced in my opinion everything felt shoved down the throat that's why people didn't like him
@ObviouslyKieran

The difference is The Rock had charisma and ring ability, Roman has neither and to say the big dog persona was forced compared to the Head of the Table is laughable.

Yea Rock was definitely the fastest rising superstar I think in any form of entertainment honestly, the rock just had that IT factor off rip and knew what to do with it, Roman was always kinda seen with the IT factor It just took him time to figure out what to do with it. Now I'll say this yall talking down on roman and talking about how long rock been in but I could see roman being almost as impactful as cena is to wwe because he's just in the middle of his prime and got his perfect character for himself, Rock left and comes back every few years and that's it. Roman is on top of the game and is not going anywhere no time soon and has been here for a while already. I believe even when he goes to Hollywood I can see him coming back more and being more of a e guy then just becoming a full fledge actor.

@Ta-Kuan Fuan people loved Roman in 2014 after shield break up and people were rooting for him in royal rumble. But Vince messed up everything from 2015 and started to build him like Cena that's why people hated him in his first run. He could have made him heel at first place.

Stupid internet marks like you act like it’s so “easy” to speak in front of a live audience. You couldn’t even hold a mic let alone talk for five seconds. That would be “insufferable,” and would cause you to be on anxiety meds for the rest of your miserable life. Easy to sit behind like a naive “fan” and make comments like that of Cornette(who actually has a rightful position to make an opinion).
