Well, from a storytelling point of view, in reality when the Shield was temporarily reunited, it was Ambrose who was the cause of its new destruction, when he betrayed Seth and turned heel, the same night that Roman had to leave due to leukemia (although in the end it turned out to be a horrible idea, which Ambrose/Moxley himself deeply disapproved of and which ultimately led him to an aberrant heel run, the lowest point of which was the vaccination segment, which was what finally convinced him to leave WWE and go to AEW). Even though the actual victim was Rollins, Ambrose by extension, betrayed him too.
