Romancing SaGa 3 - True Oblivion Final Boss (EARLY ATTEMPT, NO NG+) - ロマサガ3 Remastered | PS4

That was one hell of a challenge! There are few important things if you plan on attack Oblivion with low, fragile HPs party! (Strong build though, otherwise this fight will be impossible to get through)
▶ Water Mirror Shield is a beast! Always been my favorite shield in the game. Rising Phoenix formation + Mirror Shield for middle character = Superb insurance.
▶ Staff of Vivacity = heal all, super useful. Equip on fast character (with high Axe/Mace tech).
▶ Hydraskin Vests, Dragon Scale Coats are the best armor for this final fight. You won't have any trouble with heat/fire attacks.
▶ I noticed Oblivion's defense will significantly reduce (temporary) whenever he use "Acid Spray" So you got one sweet but short advantage to attack with full force (just a turn or two).
▶ Revive seems to be the best use at the very end (Void Wing Eclipse form) since it doesn't get reset. Just extra protection from strong attacks like Maelstrom. I had Aqua Claws on 3 characters so I don't have to deal with Maelstrom's random instant death.
▶ Shadow Servant is great to use at the beginning. Also during the last form, you can actually put on one character if you got a chance. That will help out with damage input (for my case, Monica since she stands in the back)
▶ Important Evasion techs: Net, Gaze, Reaper's Scythe. Also Bonecrusher (very weak hit but great to have especially if you going to use Shadow Servant) But overall Oblivion will use other strong hit-all attacks most of the time anyway.

I know it's been like a year or so, but I need to say this shit's impressive. Especially seeing someone properly make use of shadow servant rather than recklessly letting it dispel and dismiss it as useless. Best part of SaGa games is mastering the little in's and outs so you can beeline and get straight to the strategic stuff without having to worry about thinvs that would exist in other games like linear progression or fixed enemies.

Never late! Thank you for this, I barely ever receive comments on Romancing Saga gameplays lol, it's been pretty dead so far. This took good amount of tries though until good RNGs on my side. Especially that maelstrom didn't kill any of my characters. While this formation was my favorite to use Shadow Servant.

@@Ramencafe yeah unfortunately SaGa isn't super popular in the west unfortunately. You certainly deserve more traffic than you currently have so hopefully luck finds it's way to you so your channel can get more views. Yeah I imagine that this was pretty rng dependent. A lot of SaGa bosses can be pretty painful when they decide to spam their aoe moves.

Probably the first RPG that I replay this 3-4 times. I had only one shadow user so it was quite hard. With the same level of preparation, I think this is more difficult than romancing saga 2.

I feel like RS2 was way more strict and complicated, especially generation changes. 1 will always be my favorite and it will never get classic remastered. Sadly.

@@Ramencafe I think rs2 was at a pinnacle of rs series. Rs3 seems inferior than 2 in many ways except graphics. (Rs2 musics were better too) The Final boss of 3 was way harder than 2, perhaps because I was too confident with one 9,999 hit attacker, but that was not enough.

This game is too hard for me to play but, I still play it because I like to use many characters, until I defeat final boss. The most hard rpg difficult ever I play.

Her warter form is the worst XD. When I was young I used to make sure to clear out the 4 fiends first as at that time I don't feel like hard boss is fun... until the remaster I tried it and find that... I was too obsessed with the game knowledge that Oblivion is no longer a threat -*- it was fun though.

Maelstrom literally the most bs ability in this game 😂 I absolutely hate it too, but rng was good enough, none of my party dead.

@@Ramencafe I tried this because I thought the character would be a cool first character. The game slapped me in my face, and said, "Try another character...". I think I may try Helen first.
