I'm from Ukraine, currently live in Romania, I love it. I like that a lot of things can be done via internet, even you can buy groceries from Auchan or Kaufland sitting home and they would deliver groceries to you for very affordable price. Also mobile and home internet are cheap comparing to EU countries. The only thing i didn't like is lots of cars and hard times finding a parking place though the situation is much better than in Italy thank God. Generally, the country is nice to live in. People know English better than me so it's not hard to communicate.

FUN FACT: "Romanian preserved the Latin case system and grammar while the other Romance languages developed prepositions and dropped the case system entirely. This means Romanian is the closest language to Latin in terms of grammar. It's impossible to communicate the Latin vocative case in Italian, but when a Romanian hears "et tu brute" they know exactly how Caeser meant it(or Shakespeare rather). Other people who hear Romanian think it sounds closest to Latin. To me Italian sounds quite effeminate with its "o" endings. Romanian is the only romance language that still maintains a masculine and authoritative sound like Latin does. The case declensions in Romanian are inherited directly from Latin. Example of Latin case declension: Latin: intelligimus linguA RomaniAE Romanian: Intelegem limbA RomaniEI Italian: capiamo LA lingua DELLA Romania" @UlpianHeritor

I appreciate your commentary. The exposure of South Slavs to the cultural influences of Eastern Roman empire in first milenium AD with creation of Old Slavonic from south Slavic dialects made entrance of influences from Latin grammar and case declension to modern south Slavic languages (bul. serb. cro.) denoting also former speakers of Latin like Romanians but having mostly different vocabulary. The line of influences in time is Old Slavonic to Medieval Bulgarian ( first Bul. Emp. having Latin speakers as subjects ) to Rus./Belorus/Ukr. etc ( after 800 AD). See theory "Sprachbund" (" language federation")- Wikipedia. It reflects a reality of first milenium AD in Eastern Europe of ad-hoc federations more or less consensual of sedentary populations and migratory tribes going sedentary trying to emulate East. Roman Empire. Best regards.

The name of the Apuseni mountains actually means 'Sunset-ies' or something like that. 'Apus' in Romanian means sunset, 'Apuseni' are 'those that are at the sunset'. Sunset is at west *AND 'apus' is synonym with west* indeed, but the word means *in its genesis* the sun action not the geographical direction. Thanks for the presentation! False! In the traditional Romanian speech (where the name of the mountains derives from), Apus means "West". The modern Romanian words "Vest" and "occident" are neologisms, so "Munții Apuseni" always meant "Western Mountains", IT INDICATES GEOGRAPHICAL DIRECTION! Even today we have things such as the "Autostrada răsăritului" (Sunrise Highway/Eastern Highway). There's even "miazăzi" (midday/South) and "miazănoapte" (midnight/North) People who live in the city are incredibly out of touch with the true meaning of words, what I mentioned above is still used everywhere outside of Bucharest, please learn!

I am Romanian. I love Romania ❤! Thank you for your efforts to describe in a few minutes documentary ROMÂNIA, my country, which I am proud of. Yes, although many migratory tribes (slavs, huns, gepids, goths, cumans, sarmatians, tatars, mongols, otomans) ransacked our country and after that Empires tried to force us become one of theirs, we stood still and fought back and protected our dacian legacy (you would be surprised by what a longevity had the dacians, as an united people, they were the ones that amazed the roman emperors and teached them a lesson not to forget at Tapae (2 times) and in a Daco-Roman first war (the roman occupation was between 116 - 271 - Dacia (Felix) Romana it was called but that is not to be considered a conquest but rather a way of living in peace and sharing the roman and dacian cultures for about 150 years! After Roman retreat, DACII have been ravaged by the barbarian tribes in swift raids. In the 1200-1300s they established boundaries of Transilvania, Munteania (Wallachia) and Moldova. But there were so many longings for these three principals (PRINCIPATE) that this land's conquest was one of the most important missions the Europe rulers had. If you owned these states you could easily be acknowledged as the king ruler. As such, Mihai Viteazul (Michael the Brave) had united these three rich little "countries" under one command in 1600, but then he lost the territorries because the greek secret mission of Eteria killed him and this led to an unexpectedly outcome. Then the fanariots came in 1700's and the land was in turmoil and rulership instability due to the otoman conquests and expanding politics of other empires. And after that, the 1848 Revolution came across Europe, these small regions taking part to it, too. The reason they fought for was the freeing of peasant slaves (called "iobagi"), and independent ownership of the land. Alexandru Ioan Cuza reunites 2 of 3 territories back again (Wallachia and Moldova) in 1859 and then, for the first time in history, Romania will have a Constitution , in 1866, under the reign of Charles the 1st of Romania. The modern ROMANIAN STATE was established in 1918, 1st of December, after the First World War, when Transilvania (subdued until then to the Austro-Hungarian Empire) was declared an independent region (and so called Basarabia, the Moldova beyond Prut river). It was the time that the three main regions united and ROMANIA WAS RECOGNIZED AS ONE INDEPENDENT STATE🟦🟨🟥 ruled by a monarch and his Parliament, then, in 1965 by a communist Dictator (Nicolae Ceausescu), and after the 1989 Revolution, by democratic presidents. So, we, as Romanians had to fight a lot for safekeeping our country borders and to preserve our ethnic legacy, despite the empires, tribes and rulers that we had to fight against. We are located in a most strategic point across Europe and this was the main reason some of the countries battled for gaining access to our land resources and serving our geo-political status as a shelter against other peoples.

so I'm going to address this because I see a few romanians attempting to correct the thing about Vlad. Dracul, back in those times, did mean dragon. Vlad's dad ( also Vlad ) was given the title Dracul from the order of the dragon ( from Ladislav of Hungary, although I'm definitely spelling that wrong ), making Vlad the Impaler "son of the dragon". In time, the meaning of dracul became "devil", but that's a more modern interpretation of the word. also, we don't really have the word "moldavian". we call the region of romania that in English is Moldovia as Moldova , and the country of Moldova simply as rep of Moldova ( or Bessarabia ). I won't go in the historical context of why the Republic of Moldova is a separate country, but mainly is has to do with Stalin being a prick.

I am romanian. In fact, i was born and raised in Iași (the only romanian word you pronounced it almost correctly). Vlad Dracul was the father of Vlad the Impaler, that is true, but "Dracul" doesn't translate into "dragon" but into "devil", literally. Also, "Dracula" in romanian is a term closer to "devil" than a name, maybe closer to "The devil" or "the one devil" than just "devil".
