does russian sound like romanian?❤
@victoriasemina3 ай бұрын
@bhc-ij9zl Greetings from Russia! Russian and Romanian are both Eastern European languages, but they are not closely related. Russian is a Slavic language, while Romanian is a Romance language close to Italian. As a result, they sound quite different from each other. Russian has a more guttural and harsh sound, while Romanian has a softer and more melodious sound. But there are a lot of international words that we pronounce in the same way. 🌎🇷🇺💫

Also there is the word "copii"-children and "copiii"- the children. The one with 3 "i" should be read using a longer "i" sound than the long "i" sound for 2 "ii". I hope that helps.

Thanks a lot! The other day, I was listening to an audio book in Romanian. I was following along with the print edition. I was surprised when I read "printre cei mari" and the -i at the end of mari was very much pronounced (like -ii). I am still learning Romanian but I am pretty sure that that means big/great and is not an infinitive verb. Are there more exceptions to the silent -i rule than just the inifinitive verbs? Or is it just a matter of there being a few random exceptions? I hope my question makes sense!
@BOGDANBLUNT2 жыл бұрын
"mari" has a soft i at the end and it means big/great (plural, masculin form) If you want to say, for example "the big leaders", you would say: "liderii mari" (with the meaning of 'only the leaders which are big') or "marii lideri" (with a more poetical meaning of 'the big leaders by definition, as a category'). Anyway, the article for masculin plural ads an extra i at the end of either the substantive or adjective, depending on which is preceding and you would read the i harder. sg: (inart: mare) (art: [masc: marele] [fem: marea]) pl: (inart: *mari*) (art: [masc: *marii*] [fem: marile])
@LearnRomanianWithCorina2 жыл бұрын
Hi, in "printre cei mari", we pronounce the i softly. In "marii români" there's a longer i. However, there are cases when we write with one i but pronounce with two: "un arbitru, doi arbitri" (this is a longer i) and "arbitrii sunt aici" (longer i, of course). This happens when tr is followed by i. So, "arbitri, arbitrii" written differently, pronounced the same.

There's a tennis player Sorana Cîrstea. Why do you pronounce it as Keersta and not Chyrsta (I used English phonetics). And why there's an "î" in the middle?
@irinaanghelescu27612 жыл бұрын
In the communist period there wasn't â and it was used only î so I think that they didn't change they last name from Cîrstea to Cârstea. And there are also other "exceptions": neîntrecut (unsurpassed) "ne" from neîntrecut is like a negative from of întrecut (overtaken/surpassed). Is is mostly like the "un" from "unsuroassed". So if you have "ne" before î then you use î letter.

very good Romanian language course. But! - not everything is correct - e.g. Romanians in many cases pronounce the letter "ă" like a normal "a", and often they pronounce this letter in the middle of a word like you (a-y) and at the end of the word they pronounce it like a normal "a"... .. and other Romanians pronounce this letter as an almost normal "e" ( e.g. Păsărica) .. Romanian is a terribly difficult language.... but it's a really beautiful language and really worth learning. Regards. 🙂👍👍👍 kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4G5k5tvZ72hlZo
