This song is a bloody work of art, still gives me goosebumps to this day. Great message and great voice of Paul Carrack.

Yes, one of Mechanics greatest and unfortunately underrated songs! The Living Years LP was really gem and still is after all these years! Paul Carrack does a great job as always. Mike and the Mechanics had two of the greatest vocalists in British music in my humble opinion. Its sad to know that Paul Young has long gone. the Mechanics were never the same without him although Mike and Paul Carrack carried on. RIP Paul. Hats off to Mike and The Mechanics.

For some reason this song reminds me of an alternate universe where Paul Carrack became the new lead vocalist of Genesis after Phil Collins’ departure in 1996 because this song reminds me of “One Man’s Fool” from “Calling All Stations.”

I read , it's my favorite song ! Have you pay attention to the lyrics , or it just me ! Written some twenty years ago, Mike Rutherford must have had insight into the future days to come . Look around you now , this song has relevance to what's going on in the world today .....
