I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. Today (November 27, Advent 1), this was our New Testament Lesson (or Epistle) of the Day. Bear in mind that when Paul wrote this, Jesus had risen from the dead and had ascended into Heaven. But he will return one day, and it WILL NOT be as a helpless baby in Bethlehem. May we all prepare our hearts and minds for his coming.
