I've been coloring along with these videos and OH MY GOSH, my picture looks SO much better than any of the others I've done! I think your technique is easier than some of the others and it's getting even easier as I go along. Thanks so much for sharing your talent.

Hi Julie, thanks for the videos. Some colorists start with the lightest color and add layer upon layer, but that just isn't working for me. I like seeing how to start with the darkest color and get lighter. Is this pretty much the technique you always use? Thanks.

+Deanna Gearinger yes i always color that way

every time a new video comes out your prismacolor pencils are getting shorter and shorter lol...you definitely put them to good use:), do you color everyday? and how much?

+Sarah Beltran lol i have a 150 set extra so i don't really mind they getting shorter... I color almost every day but sometimes only half an hour 😉

Your video saturation must be turned to like +100... because my colors are MUCH duller than those...

+pesto12601 do you color with prismas?
@pesto126018 жыл бұрын
Julie's passion for coloring I do use prismas.. in fact - I'm following along as you color, pausing the video to see what color you are using and watching your technique - and doing the same in my own book. It's looking very nice (not as nice as yours... but pretty darn good). I'm learning about which colors go together well and how to use underlayers to get darker areas and highlights, etc. Interestingly, when you move away for a bit to grab another color (or perhaps sharpen a pencil off camera) - the color on the video goes "normal" and you can see your colors are more muted and match mine quite a bit more. I would say your camera must be set to "vivid" or your saturation is like +100 or something... I do still say your pencils are super creamy while mine are very chalky.... hard for me to get the same type of coverage, blending as you are. Or perhaps its the paper and your book is printed on better paper...

+pesto12601 yes, the KZbin program that i use to upload videos did an automatic color thing... I didn't know first how to fix that and also it changed my fixation point all the time... But now i found how to set it off and from now on it will not happen again... Latest 5-6 videos i uploaded are without that automatic thing so now the result of the video is better... Hope you understand... My english is not that good 😉

Julie's passion for coloring Thanks Julie - yes... I totally get it! Figured that was the case ... it looks so bright and colorful but impossible to get that color.. :-) Thx for all your videos... they are very helpful to help me learn how to color better... I like your style of shading - don't know how you color so fast though! Takes me days to color just a small section - seems like you color multiple pages a day! Your English is just great... no worries! Thx again..
