I had tickets to see them on a Friday night in early '85 . Typical Northern Indiana weather struck with a lake effect winter storm that postponed the show until Sunday night as the band's transportation was snowed in . When it came time to play Riding The Storm Out , the band put an extra emphasis on their performance of the song . I took my future wife to that show , now 39 years later she's still hanging around .

The lead guitarist is Gary Richrath-RIP sir. One of the most underrated guitarists in rock history. He was the heart and soul of REO Speedwagon and when he left the band it was never the same again.

I guess I was about 16 or 17 when this hit the airwaves and I freakin loved it. My all time favorite song of theirs and been a fan ever since. Great review. Good to see the youngster being introduced to great music.

I prefer the rock songs that Gary Richrath wrote a lot more than these soft pop songs that Croni wrote.The mid '70's was a good time to see these guys in concert.Gary usually stole the show with his guitar.

For me it was about guitarist Gary Richrath, he was very good but underrated and his guitar had one of the best tones. He would take a cheesy song and add some ripping guitar to save the song My opinion
