I totally get that! It’s interesting how everyone’s so different. I get overstimulated pretty easily but still had a great time. We were there a few weeks ago during a week day when it wasn’t very busy but we went back recently during a weekend and Jared said he preferred the “energy and vibes” of all the people (many in costumes, street performers, etc) 😄

Downtown Salem, yes- it’s so chock full of tourists every October, I find it hard to enjoy it (I live in Salem all year). However, there’s more to Salem than downtown! There are events in other areas of the town that are far less touristy than the VERY touristy downtown square area. The shops make a huge volume of sales in October, so much so that they can stay open all year, even Jan and Feb, where there are virtually no tourists and the snowbirds are back in Florida.

Boo baskets are cute. Aw. So cute about the money in the card. What a loving husband to quote Casper too. As someone who has parents and in-laws who are hoarders and as one who has had a lot of loss from aunts and uncles, I will state, don't leave your kids things that they probably won't want. They will be their own people with their own interests and personalities. Use what you love and when it is done serving you, donate it. I will definitely do estate sales for them and then get rid of the rest. I am stressed just thinking about it now (my parents are almost 80 to explain why I am in this place of thought). I have watched my cousins go through such a hard time cleaning out their parents' houses after they go. Looks like a cool time in Salem. It would be fun to go there one day. Glad you were able to experience this. That fudge looks amazing. Cute video once again.

I live in Salem Mass, and I wish you had waited two weeks to visit the settlement- we do a Hallows Eve Faire in the settlement the last two weekends of October that is incredible. It’s also not so touristy, like the thousands and thousands of people completely choking the Salem square every October (so much so that I can’t even get to my fave pet supply store that happens the be in the square at all in October). There are actors all around the settlement , and they have THE scariest and most amazing costumes and makeup. Some of the witches from around town sell crystals and candles in there and it’s just the best, most unique events in Salem. I’m going Friday night for this years’s and I’m super excited- it gives me something to look forward to every October even though tourists have completely taken over downtown.

I absolutely love the idea of Boo baskets🎃 I’ve never heard of these before. I’ll definitely be incorporating this into my Autumn traditions next year🧡 Actually, I’m going to incorporate many of these October 1st traditions🍁 I’m originally from MA and have been living in FL since 2016. I miss Autumn soooo much!! Fall is my absolute favorite season!!! Once my husband is done with his work commitment in 2028, we’re definitely moving back to somewhere with all 4 seasons. Until then, I do my best to recreate the feeling of Autumn in our home and I must say I do a really great job lol🧡 We’re fortunate to live near a local farm that has corn mazes, a pumpkin patch, hay rides, etc. It’s not quite the same when it’s still hot out, but we still enjoy going each year.
