1:30 when you learn a coreography by heart (what was made to seem a freestyle) and you move before the music. At a private course by one of the most amazing teachers, I was told to be sliiightly late. A (fraction of) second after the beat. I was a lil' surprised initially. But the eye doesn't catch that as a mistake. However, being on time exactly or slightly late work both very good. Making the move before the beat though (mostly when it's a stop in the song) ruins everything. It gives away it was a choreo and it looks bad, very bad.

It wasn't meant to be freestyle. It is a bachata demo that they did after a workshop. They do not usually freestyle for demos; they usually just freestyle at socials. Also, she didn't make the move before the beat. She lifted her hip before the beat so she could hit the accents of the percussion that followed. These are full-time , professional, internationally renowned dancers, teachers, and choreographers. But I'm sure they would appreciate your advice and would love to know that it looks "bad, very bad." After all, you did take a private lesson from an amazing teacher.
