Excoundrel explained it in a comment in one of a subreddit post "WESG is a totally separate entity to semc and actually wouldn't allow semc to interfere in the way their tournament is run - they asked for caster suggestions and I was asked to go but the pay wasn't very good and my son was due to be born around this time so I turned it down (for clarity I was offered 1 day pay then I had to stay in China for 10 days with no pay until the final - I actually lost money if I chose to attend because I work 3 days a week in London and I would miss all those regular events). Most of the old vg casters now work elsewhere with vg esports being gone for so long - humanist and myself are probably the only two still active and like I said it wasn't worth me attending unfortunately although I'd have loved to. Jaws casts ow contenders, munch has a full time role at esp, AJ has a full time role at nge, dowsey gave up vainglory a while back. People like max and imperium haven't had enough events to prove they can do a live event even though I personally feel they'd have been the best fits for the job. He is taking a break from competitive VG to focus on school. He wasn't participating in Tribe since last year's VPL summers; that's when they moved Oldskool down to bot and Chuck was just acquired for mid.They lost to Nova in the finals probably due to his absence or the team not having enough chemistry.
