thankyou for identifying the problem with the port not becoming active after reloading and giving the solution (reload it again) this was delaying my progress for a very long time

@@romeroc24 Hi Christian, I have also been fooled at first, but in fact PC1 and PC6 are in different subnets: 172.17.10.0/24 vs 172.17.30.0/24. Also, as PC1 does not know the way to subnet 30 it's attempting to ARP towards the DGW 172.17.10.1, but as there's no DGW device in this PT, the ARP process drops the frame.

@@damasta.md.99 you all right, PCs on different networks and vlans will not be able to ping unless there is a layer 3 devices that can communicate them, in this case there is no layer device
