Hi Romina, I hope your surgery goes well and ends well for you. I got bullied as a young girl by other girls and even thrown into a trash can by a very angry group for which I had no clue why they were angry-I was the new kid on the block and was made the target but I survived to actually help these kids in school with a literature project and I gained their respect then I moved away.....it's funny now that I am older and I found one of the bullies online and reached out to ask if they remembered me-I was acknowledged and that was that-the profile had shown this person was now a devout religious person so something in this person changed for the better (hopefully) but I have seen where bullies hide behind religion to justify the bully behavior as the bullying is masked as morals and judgement-kind of like Anna Bey......Since the pandemic, I have joined in the YT world of online engagement. I followed an influencer for two years who I explain in a video that they took advantage of me and then started gaslighting me and bullying me in our little community so what did I do to get over it? I fought back with the truth! If someone tries to paint you a certain way, always remember that you have a choice to tell your truth. Many viewers are intimidated to stand up to influencers because their minions come to attack but truth will always garner more respect in the end than an influencers power over the masses.

Hi Romina. I came here after Dacob told us what happened. I am so sorry you have been bullied. Take it from someone who embraced the internet in the 1990s and watched all the changes: it's the same in every community on the internet. You would not believe the amount of drama between LiveJournal icon-makers in the early 2000s! It was petty beyond belief. People get very careless with their actions and just don't think about how their actions affect others. They also have trouble guaging how their words sound to others because they cannot see the recipient's facial expressions. It's sad and deeply disappointing, I know. {{{hugs}}} Oh, and how to get over it? Hold back on emotionally investing in new relationships until the person has proven what sort of friend they really are.

I actually planned on reporting that Anna person. As a woman of color I found one of her videos offensive. She was sharing pictures of women of color and talking about “twerking” and “do we want to purchase luxury items that these women are able to purchase” she is pretentious and using micro aggressions. I really dislike it when people attack/criticize others for no valid reason. Totally agree with you Romina, giving credit to who produces the content is real elegance. That said, don‘t think there was much to be expected from someone who would use „expensive“ as synonymous of „elegant“ in many of her videos, the bar was already low to begin with… When it comes to bullying, personally I always fight back, if you back down to one bully today, there is always going to be another bully tomorrow. And by fighting back, I mean that you don‘t give them what they want, so if for example you are dealing with people trolling you, you block them and don‘t spend a single second arguing with them, because what they want is attention, so you don’t give it to them, end of. Love your videos, especially the vlogs where you show second-hand luxury stores in London and other cities, they are really my jam at the moment. KZbin is the same as all other places, a cross section of society. Had all this crap at work recently, people taking credit for things that weren’t theirs, doing things for praise rather than actually adding value to someone else’s life. I sometimes think folks become more secular as society becomes more affluent because maybe the belief is that they have money so they don’t need connections. I'm so sorry you are going through a stressful time....health issues are the worse. I hope your operation goes very smoothly and I wish you a speedy recovery. I was bullied in high school because I was one of a couple of Asians at the school...it was purely because I looked different and due to racism. The bullying ruined my high school years and I put it behind me finally when I went to college...I thrived in a more diverse environment. I still have PTSD from the bullying though and it never truly leaves a person. Society should never discount the devastating effects from bullying. There is no excuse for bullying period. I am sorry you have been bullied online. You are such an intelligent and kind person with such an elegant style. There is not a mean bone in your body. I have gotten some mean replies to comments I have left on other channels. Why say anything if they had nothing nice to say? I can say your subscribers are very kind people and I have not received any mean replies to my comments here. It made me take a step back and one of the reasons I cut back on watching videos. Hi, sweet Romina! Firstly, I most sincerely hope you get well soon. Now, addressing the matter of bullying: you’re never too young or old enough for anything. Age is an abstraction. People get wiser, but you’re never too old to cry, or to feel offended, fear, the sense of being lost, or to rethink a lot of aspects of life. In my opinion, trouble is, the human being is “programmed” to find a plausible explanation to the bad things, to why people are mean, why the system has to be like this… and this quest for answers brings anxiety, depression, a urge for questioning every thing and even ourselves - it’s so easy to blame ourselves when we are the victims of evil. We feel isolated in our own cosmo, as if no one would relate, no one would care or emphasize enough, which, in a way, is true, most unfortunately. However, and to our dismay, I’ve come to the conclusion that simply some things don’t have an explanation, a plausible one… (plenty of) people are evil (or toxic)… not because they have a reason behind it that could possibly justify their conduct. We tend to racionalize why they are the way they are, but we can’t - meanwhile we give them attention. And it’s frustrating. And yes, I’ve been bullied many times. All it takes is for you to have or be something who certain people envy… why? Only God knows. You’re so kind, so pleasing to watch and hear. Don’t let idiots interfere with your life, your projects… if you like to be a KZbinr, if that brings you pleasure, do your thing and ignore. In my experience, the hardest form of justice (or vengeance) is ignoring, giving the cold shoulder… it’s so very hard… because you are and feel entitled to respond, to engage…. You feel they have it coming and want to do something about, to defend your moral and dignity - there’s no use though, when you’re dealing with scum. Scum doesn’t have self-respect, let alone respect for others. It’s not easy to ignore: take it day by day, within a week it gets easier… with time, you will forget. As you said, it's a niche community but very toxic. Even lovely Dacob has to suffer about jealous people, nasty comments and whatnot. But this is just a reflection on how the world has changed. Most people only care for one, themselves. It's greed. It's jealousy. And what's really shocking, already starts in teenage years now. Sad. Now towards the positive part, you're doing a wonderful job with your channel, content and personal opinion. And joining you on your videos, it's like being there ourselves. And absolutely No one has the right to bully you, or anyone else, they should be truly ashamed and can only act like this because there's internet's anonymity. Hatred and bullying are really not nice traits to possess, and I’m so sorry to hear that you are experiencing this again…..you do a great job on here and never, ever forget that….keep your chin up and fly high above the vitriolic detritus that is aimed at you….it’s just spiteful hateful jealousy…envy is just so ugly…..I have been bullied in several workplaces and had to leave….because it felt like the easiest option…but then I vowed to never to allow that to happen again…I stood up for myself and spoke out strongly to cull that behaviour. Very thoughtful, Romina. I would add that not all KZbinrs know the unspoken rules or use all the different features available to us. When I collab I always link the others' videos in the description box but I've never thought to do a community post about it and I never use the tag feature. But those are the standards I've agreed upon with the people I collab with. That's awful about someone posting your video 2 days before you agreed!

I hope and pray you will be fine! I can relate having been diagnosed with cancer 5 years ago. Next, I want you to know that you are exceptional at what you do and brighten most of our days. Thanks to you, I have found so much. Dacob is someone very special and I have learned so much from him! I also enjoy Maria D. So all of you are very special to me and I consider you guys a "youtube family" !! As far as bullying, I think we have all been there. I lost my cousin to brain cancer about 18 months and at the funeral, was told I would "die" next because I am so thin. And then they wanted to know about my Louis Vuitton shoes and bag! They mocked me. Told me I was wearing MCM! They are dumb, they don't know who LV even is or was! Needless to say, it was told to me that I am labeled a snob and strangely it does not bother me. Ha! I just did a long weekend away with friends and no youtube, no news, just enjoying good food and drinks with friends, and it really was great for my mental health. In terms of bullying, I remember being picked on when I was in elementary school most likely because I was quiet so I learned to stand up for myself at a very young age and developed a knack for making the other person seem foolish, not in every case, whenever someone tried to pick on me.
