My hair is the same length and achieved it through long term protective styling as well . I'm moving away from box braids and moving to braiding my own hair now !

OMG YESSSS GIRL ME TOOO! FOR YEARS I BEEN having BOX-BRAIDS, BUT IF U GO OVER 3 MONTHS YOUR BOX BRAIDS GET KNOTED UP AND I HATE THAT AND REALIZED I GREW MORE INCHES WITH MY HAIR IN TWIST BRAIDING UP UNDERNEATH MY WEAVE! So I’m sticking with weave growth

I do this but only for 3-4 weeks at a time…I love washing my hair! Lol A tip that I picked up is to twist/finger coil the ends of your braids. It’s easier on you and the ends of your hair!
@Simply_Mimi10173 жыл бұрын
I wore a wig and head wraps for 3 months and my hair was in twists. The amount of matting at the roots I had was atrocious!! I didn’t wash either. I spritz and oiled every so often. I told myself I would never go that long again even though I had so much growth. But after watching this i think I’ll try the braids for a month and see how it goes.
@thandiwendlovu78463 жыл бұрын
I think braids are better than twists. I experienced the same with twists but since I did braids my hair would detangle on its own the moment I take it down.
@rays25422 жыл бұрын
Believe it or not the water and oil adds to the buildup and causes the matting more.

When I was younger my mom would braid my hair for a month and not wash it. She would just put oil on my scalp and spray my hair with water and conditioner mix. She did that until I was 12. And my hair was at my waistline.

Hey girl👋🏽 I have seborrheic dermatitis also. I use this ointment given to me by my dermatologist called triamcinolone(it works great). Also I found if I had a style like box braids spraying my scalp daily with water helped a lot, and washing my scalp once a week with the braids in.

I keep twists or braids in for like a month. Right now I have in braids for almost a month. I moisturized with water and shea moisture (mixed with some oils an a little lavender oil) at least 3-4 times a week. I got to re-braiding some last night and it felt so dry. Lol. I use to use conditioner to detangle but now I detangle with an avocado or aloe vera mixture.

I shaved my hair off back in 2018. Keep bringing this content I love it. Thanks for all your help!!! Do you have any suggestions for split ends and how to trim?
@romustlive3 жыл бұрын
you are so welcome! And thank you for watching! Some tips that I can give you for split ends are to Get regular trims, preferably every eight weeks, make sure to always deep condition your hair after shampooing, take your time when detangling your hair, Use a wide tooth comb/brush to detangle wet hair, minimize the use of heat and use my products on your ends to help strengthen and keep your ends moisturized. And here's a video of me trimming my hair: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWOoq2hql7-DitU Hope that helps!!!
