Umm Fez was actually right. You don’t need to be in bed for a week after giving birth, unless you’ve got a cesarean. Sure you haven’t got a full energy yet and you have to pace yourself but you don’t need to be in bed all the time. Also , newborns are easy, they sleep all the time and they only need to be with their mothers if they were breastfed.

I've got first hand experience and I'm going to go ahead and agree with @KCCC326 just because women have been historically encouraged to suck it up and get back to work doesn't mean that your body wouldn't be better off with more rest. As a fitness coach, I can't tell you how many mothers I have seen living with chronic pain for years or decades even who could have avoided it had that been given proper postpartum care (which does not exist in the US). However, I believe Fez is being a bit facetious with his comments. I think he knows that a woman that gave birth 2 days ago probably needs rest, but he is being overly critical of Casey on account of her being the awful person that she is
