I once called the bank and was told I had a $35 insufficient funds fee and the lady I spoke with was so nice, she was like “girl keep this on the dl but you can get one of these fees removed per year, I’m gonna transfer you and just tell them I didn’t want to remove the fee for you and threaten to close the account if you have to!” Sure enough she was right and I didn’t have to pay the extra $35 just because my balance was -$6

This has happened to me before. I had a student account, which wasn't supposed to have monthly fees. One month I had like 84 cents in my account, got a monthly fee, which caused me to overdraft. I went to the bank manager, and she then informed me that my student status had to be updated every year. She updated it, refunded the monthly fee, but also went back and found a few fees that were wrong and reversed them. I walked in 10 dollars overdrawn, expected to get back to 84 cents at best, but walked out with 40 bucks in my account. I have stayed with them since. 5/3 bank.

You may be the first person I've heard of getting money back from 5/3. They violated their own rules to steal $180 from me, which they only offered to give half back if I qualified for their credit card. I did not qualify. My co-worker's mom was in management at 5/3 and did her banking at a credit union because she didn't want to deal with 5/3's policies.

I’ve honestly never thought to call and talk to the bank. With my bank if you go over your amount you get a $30 overdraft fee. Since that was the policy I never thought to call even tho I could have gone over like $1.10 now I’m going to call.
