20th Century Studios and Locksmith Animation’s “Ron’s Gone Wrong” is the story of Barney, a socially awkward middle-schooler and Ron, his new walking, talking, digitally-connected device, which is supposed to be his “Best Friend out of the Box.” Ron’s hilarious malfunctions, set against the backdrop of the social media age, launch them into an action-packed journey in which boy and robot come to terms with the wonderful messiness of true friendship.

As for _Ron's Gone Wrong_ being similar to _The Mitchells vs. The Machines_ in story, not necessarily as _Ron_ is more about the friendship between Barney and Ron similar to Hiro and Baymax from _Big Hero 6_ while _Mitchells_ is more about family and the Mitchells are trying to survive a Robot Apocalypse.

It's not. This is the only film this animation studio is developing with 20th Century Studios before they move to Universal for their next film. And we all know Universal already has quite a few animation studios of its own so these guys will be lost in Universal's catalogue. Edit: Okay I was wrong. Locksmith Studios has moved to WB and not Universal. They can have a better future at WB though since they don't have a high profile feature film animation studio as far as I know.

So happy and glad 20th Century Studios can still make animated films. I’d guess Ron’s Gone Wrong will be the first animated film under the 20th Century Studios name and this film has The Mitchell vs The Machine, Big Hero 6 and Next Gen vibes. Hope 20th Century Studios release this film to show the world that even though they’ve been bought by Disney they can still make animated films.

They are not trying to “normalize the fact” they are addressing it because it is really common and by giving the boy a “Ron” it is saying you do not have to have the same things everyone else has. As long as you are happy, that is all that matters

@@l0v3n0n3 I don't think the studio or parent company has thought that, if they did there would have been rewrites. this movie is gonna imply ron is actually better then the other bots, and as a result, if these robots are made into toys, everyone would want a ron, not the other bots. The message is really saying you do not have to have the same things as everyone else....so buy OUR thing instead.
