I remember when he was in his prime, he was unbelievable, there was no youtube or anything like that so when you had the chance to watch a game featuring Ronaldo you almost didn't want to blink because you knew you were watching something special. He never played for a team that I supported so I still remember that feeling of jealousy for not having a player that could control and touch the ball the way he did. He would just glide through the field and the ball would listen to his every command.

Best ever player for me. I remember the first time I watched him in Confed 1997 game against Czech Republic. My parents were just talking about him and I was really curious to see this player who had a similar name to mine. I was only 8 years old and was blown away. I liked soccer but after I watched this guy, I started loving it and following it. I even said I wanted to play for Brazil even though I am not from there. It's always inspirational to see how he overcame his injuries. No debate for me. R9 is the best ever.

Still after his two knees operations,he won a W Cup and was great playing for Real Madrid. He did accomplished more than any player after his injuries. Any other would quit the game after that second tragedy game when his knee almost popped out. Still remember as if was today,was his first game after recovering from the first big one. I was 100% sure he would never play again,he came back and won the W Cup.

PSV Eindoven. there is where is career begins 94-96. 17 years old. Already the best of Nederland. 96-97 Barcelona. 97-02 he played fore Inter. i believe his best period was 94-98. before WK98. Ronaldo the Phenomenon, what can I say more than the comments of his colleagues. He is the biggest inspiration for my Kids now, who want to be like him. I have been watching football from the 80's, I have never seen a complete player like the phenomenon. I was 14 years old when I first heard of him.... back them you had to pay so much money to watch the Spanish league so I wasn't following it every week, it was in 1998 that I fell in love with his game....the match against nertherland was for me the greatest match in history, he came out as a beast to win the match that eventually in my opinion was the reason Brazil lost the world cup to France......I really believe he had those convulsions before the final match due to two horrible head stomps caused by the Dutch defenders.....it is a great tragedy that he got injured otherwise he would have broken all the records in football history....Ronaldo the number one influence...

Back in mid-late 90’s in Nepal, we used to have this black&white tv and having foreign channels then used to be a privilege.
