Other, more moderate liberals were uncertain of his defense & monetary policies). Thankfully, Reagan didn't care. He extended a warm & sincere welcome to everyone to "join the program", but wasn't going to change direction to appease those who would never approve of him or his policies anyway. Reagan knew where & who most his support base was. Trump was similar to Reagan in this way, but Trump doesn't have the pleasant & sincere manner & character that Reagan had.
