Nice Nav! Not many people have respect for the d22’s but they are reliable workhorses. Just like mine!

Good on this bloke. It’s a nice car, capable and comfortable. It goes against many other modified episodes where the mods are worth 10x the cost of the car. Good to know you can still get out there without remortgaging your house. No need to have every mod under the sun, unless you like the wank factor.

What's your point? Before you insult me actually do some research into the brands seen on the vehicle in discussion. Majority of the brands on there are cheap Chinese shit - companies like AdventureKings are making Australian businesses go bankrupt (ie. Black Widow) because they offer awful quality and therefore cheaper alternatives. There were 2-3 things on this vehicle that the owner couldn't even name because he "Got it from Supercheap Auto" or "from eBay". Grow up champ.

Dump pipe off the back of the turbo my dude. Worst friggen part of the whole car... didnt even know i knew so many sware words. Learnt how hard i could peg a spanner to 😂 come out the other side with a few skinned knuckles and cuts. Not much room to get those rear bolts between the turbo and the wall, open enders for that job. Firgured out later on the 2nd dump pipe and turbo replacement (3inch/20psi) that if you remove the catch can and airbox and prefit the dump onto the new turbo before it goes in you can bolt the dump to the turbo out of the car and than twist it in with everything removed away from the manifold. Mungrel job.

Hugh Jazz that’s one occasion if you know how to service it properly eg. Bearings, oil, filters They last a long time with out any problems. For example my old disco 2 had 293,000 miles on the clock when I sold it 12 years ago still today it is running with 370,000 with no records held by the driver vehicle licensing agency of it breaking down or any mechanical problems, my current disco 4 is at 100,000 no issues though it is barely worn in yet, my off roader defender 110 commercial is at 470,000miles all original parts I’ve owned it since new in 1995. That thing has not even spluttered to start in a heavy freeze

Enjoy your Computer Controlled Air Suspension The high failure rate of the Becker BM Radio module The poor choice of wheels and tires Auto trans failures But you are a Land Rover lover, none of this matters to you, you bought the story and promotional material. Nice family town car, but as far as off-road or remote travel, No Thanks!

I have one of these nav’s and I can tell you the reason you don’t see many getting around off road is because they are criminally under powered.. i had to get chip and exhaust just to make it acceptable otherwise it didn’t want to take off on the road let alone sand or mud

Is the use of canvas/vinyl for the sides of the box just for keeping the weight down? It seems odd to have a metal grid door, and and the cover, vs just having an aluminum or steel skin on the door.

Are pop up camping trailers common in Australia? They're everywhere in the U.S. and cheap. But for some reason overland guys buy $1500 roof tents or $5000 "cool" trailers. Not sure i get it. If it's ground clearance, that's a pretty easy mod.
