hey Ronny, don't know if you'll see this but there's a European company that made a solution to fit a larger tyre on the rear door. it's basically a steel bracket that shifts the tyre carrier position a few inches to the side to allow a 35 to fit on the rear door without obstructing the smaller rear door from opening.

It does look way more balanced with the moderately larger tires and the grill hoops

Delighted to see someone who actually knows their sh1t putting this thing through its paces. Also excited by his reaction to everything done. It's an absolutely cracking machine but I will always feel the engine is the achilles heel. Maybe some additional protection here @ Ronny

@@Wickham09 I do a lot of mileage on Irish/EU roads so very good quality and I could honestly put my hand on my heart and say that at least 20-30% of cars I see getting towed are BMW diesels. I'm not sure why, but I've heard it's the common rail and high pressure system as a whole. I could be wrong though? Ozzie roads are a different animal in terms of wear and tear.

@@simon8089 fair, my thought was I see a lot of people swapping BMW diesels (M57) in to 4x4s online in Europe. Is the B57 belt, chain or gear driven? What would be the issue with the fuel pump? Might be electric in-tank pumps?

A piece of flat bar bent so it runs flat under the light bars on your rack and up on the sides to mount to the light bar bracket bolts would cut the light off your skylights and let you leave them uncovered. I work in film lighting in nz and we call it an under-chop.

Love the prewire routed setup because it is what it was built for. Military application and have things on standby and easy to fit. The fact that this vehicle has snap to fit areas means the engineering was built by some mechanics rather than just engineers. I have been a fan of this British offroad vehicle. Jimmy deville which I think you should interview has a landy defender.

I picked up the switching wire for the relay from the back of the RH headlight ,it is the easiest point to get to . To get to the rear of the driving lights requires the removal of the bull bar and most of the front of the vehicle. The power for the relay came from the aux wire under the bonnet behind the air cleaner but I was wiring a light bar to the bull bar

It definitely looks good with the larger tires and mods. Nicely done with those. I'm amazed the lift was so simple. Still waiting for someone to rip out that ridiculous, cheap, plastic, BMW-parts-bin shifter and gearbox and put a manual in it, as it should have been from the beginning. Still boggles my mind that Ineos made the exact same mistakes Land Rover did with the Defender in that regard, especially considering this was supposed to be the "proper" enthusiast version of what the Defender should have been. A manual swap would make the Grenadier damned near perfect. As it is, it's just a minivan with a Defender-esque body and I wouldn't own it, especially when you consider the insane price of this vehicle.

i'LL Bet you that those powered outlets on the roof can be controlled by the BCM and not the normal standard auxilary wiring standard. If that is the case a very simple software adjustment could switch them off and on with the high beams. The Panniers (For want of a better term robbed from the motorcycle world) look like an excellent option for external storage. Plenty of extra drag though on a highway trip.

Looks great! I've been waiting for this to drop as I am looking at tyres on mine. That seals it as I was thinking 315/70, but having seen the door clearance, there's no way they'd fit. 305/70 it is... Its so annoying that we cant get the metal bumper and the bars here they really look the part, and with the amount of deer on the roads here i'd be a lot happier with them on.

I’ve done 5k miles in mine and even on some fairly long journeys the hump hasn’t caused a problem. I also have the built in winch . Hey Ronny, I am one of your followers from the Sultanate of Oman.. This is the first time I see you without your Land Cruiser..!! I am obsessed with the Defender, the appearance of the Grenadier has made it my number one target now. However, the specialists advised me not to buy the first model, or even the fourth model, for several reasons, including that these models are still in the process of experimentation and development, and the prices of spare parts are exaggerated, for example: a replacement car key costs $1,200 dollars..!! Since I have confidence in your experience, I hope that you provide specific information in a clear and frank manner in your upcoming episodes, for example: fuel consumption, diesel/petrol engine performance efficiency, internal/external design defects, air conditioner efficiency. Please provide a complete evaluation of the car from all technical and mechanical aspects.

The steering issue is because the caster angle is off now after the lift. This is why you typically add adjustable control arms with a lift so you can get the axles caster angle back to -5 degrees or so. It will drive a lot better.

Such a great vehicle. They sure did their research and development to suit the real off-road buyer. The more you show the features of this machine and the mod potentials the better it gets. So many options and huge potential for serious travelling. Ive never liked the funky grill/nose, but that bar makes it perfect. Great video, the car looks awesome. It bugs me you say it fits nearly 35" tyres when a 305/70/17 is only a 33.81" tyre (if it runs true to size). I'm sure it can take a 35 with no lift too, but I think for future check online regarding metric to imperial tyre size conversions :) A question I had about the car is after looking at the underside of one at a 4wd show, it seems that many of the steering components hang really low, especially the steering damper in the front end. I know it's got bashplayes but unfer flex or after a lift these wouldn't be doing too much. Have you found anything like this becoming an issue when crossing over large obstacles or rocks? Looking forward to the next video, been really enjoying this series

I thought lifting the vehicle by more than 50mm required (engineer’s) approval? 40mm lifted suspension plus the larger tyres would put you over that. Gotta be careful that your insurance company doesn’t just walk away if you’re ever involved in an accident. You could be wearing all the costs (repair and medical) of you/your car and any others.

Hey Ronny, would be worth looking at the legalities of mounting anything on the side of the vehicle. In QLD, you are not allowed to have anything protruding beyond the widest point of the vehicle which is usually the wheel arches. The only exceptions are mirrors capable of folding back on impact and wheel arch flares that meet ADR requirements. People here have been fined for roof racks and awnings that stick out too far. All to do with pedestrian safety I believe.
