+20alphabet She said it weeks before the fight. Ronda's mom knew her coach's were not good anymore. I guess she knew that Holm's style was a threat to Ronda and she needed to change coaching teams.
@20alphabet

slidejones Yes, I'm aware that she said this prior to Ronda's loss. And he's not the only one to ride Ronda to fame or celebrity status. She's now apparently involved with a married man who's also a fighter few have heard of. Well he's cured that problem now. I personally believe that this current relationship had a large part in her defeat. She wasn't the same person at the staredown at all. And in the ring she looked lost, not herself.
@slidejones6033

20alphabet That is true. At the stare down, Ronda acted so strange and aggressive and emotional. She refused to touch gloves at the beginning of the fight. But at the end, she hugged Holly which made her humbled.

Andretz89 Glad you mentioned the weigh-in. When I saw the 193 weigh-in, I saw a different person. This wasn't the Ronda I've come to expect. She was all over the place and didn't make sense when she spoke. Something's happened to her. She didn't fearlessly enter this fight on a high moral ground I've seen in all the previous contests.

after seeing how ronda performed in the last fight i have to agree with her mum. the strategy was sosooooooo bad- and he s meant to be a boxing coach?1?1? to walk in on a straight line against a taller boxer? with no feignts? no cutting off the ring- just following? poor footwork , no hook or leg to cut off the angles- just showed her poor boxing skills against an elite boxer. she was able to knockout these other atheltes- but none of them were world class. but the worst was when she returned to her corner after the round and he says she was doing beautifully - to keep it up?! i couldn't believe my ears. she was getting tagged- i can understand him wanting to build her confindence, but anyone who has or hasn't fought could see.= that she had to cut off the ring, feint and then step back and counter with an uppercut or hook- cos she was going to counter the step in. against a south paw the best punch is a straight righ- a hook is useless when the boxer turns away from the hook and to the left cos the distance is too great- and he was telling her to throw it. you can just see his other boxer- the raging bull - vic darchinyan - who is probably the ugliest technique in all of boxing to see, that he dosing know how to improve a boxers technique. vic is great , a power guy- but his technique is horrendous- he sticks his elbows out, he looks like a crab clawing at his oppponest he hunches over- he hooks waaay too wide, and he leads with his chin up, he telegraphs his jab- all basic mistakes that he s able to get away with because he has prodigious power. sometimes having big fists and amazing torque , - power- is all u need over more disciplined and technical guys.- horrendous- any coach would have corrected his technique from the first day in. but when you have nt got technique and u rely on power- and u face a fighter like holm who has power AND technique AND experience?!? you get exposed like ronda did. and the new!!!

+Araks Gumruyan a little bit of reach advantage, but the most important thing is that the douchebag coach convinced her to box a boxing champion. Pure brainwashing. +Andretz89 No one who gets hit 70% against a pro fighter will have much stamina left, to be honest. She should've gotten it to the ground in the first place and her team should've made that an emphasis. Holm has a library of stand up game and Ronda was playing to Holly's strengths. Plus Holm had the right mentality against Ronda, not falling for her mental games.

+Eric Williams haha, beautiful work? We were all, WTF? Worst corner advice I've ever seen, he was exposed for his lack of game plan after Ronda couldn't get to Holly. She went right back in, head up and ended up getting picked apart by a vastly superior stand up fighter. Horrible game plan, he was dickriding her talent and it made him look like a great coach. For her own sake, I hope she drops his bankrupt ass and goes to a legit camp.

Respect to her for speaking her mind. Would love to hear more details about what it is about Edmund she finds bad? Is it coaching techniques? Outdated methods? Lack of diverse training? Too many hard sparring increasing chance of brain injury? Or maybe just a horrible person when the cameras are not around? I really hope the interviewer asked follow up questions, although, the way he asked this question so reluctantly, i'm guessing there is no follow up. Guess it's up to Ariel to do the job properly.

+Davo Apo listen to the Joe Rogan interview with him and Rousey, it starts from 1:32:20 where he tells the story. Ronda came into his gym for months but he didnt really give her much attention. Then one day he received a call form Rondas manager that Ronda found somoene to fight at the amateur level. He reluctantly agreed to coach her for the fight, and then he says after the fight he has seen on the internet how big of a buzz her fight made, like one article (or whatever) reaching 100k views or something, and thats when he realized that she gotta be something special (or in reality thats when he realized that he most likely hit the jackpot). There, you have it, he basically even admitted it.

Saying Bad Person And a Bad Trainer is just to make herself more important than anyone els being surrounded by Ronda.. Bottom line is as a Parent if have been the very best mother knowing you have a Raised someone like Ronda for the real world than you have no right judging a person that she's been friends with all this years publicly.. If Anything it should be Discussed between Mother and Daughter! But the approach for this fight was eerily familiar to the match up against Holly Holm. I think Tarverdyan should take a lot of the blame. Nunes was great for what she did at the end of the fight. Gave the fool coach a piece of her mind. Just goes to show how intelligent a fighter she is aswell. Good job Nunes but for Ronda is time to get a new coach, play to your strengths. And take a page out of Dom Cruz's and Conor McGregor's book when dealing with media and losing fights.

Not that I know the guy personally, but you can win all your Judo matches, that does nothing for MMA. Judo is a very limited sport with rules specifically designed for that game. Ronda is winning her MMA fights SOMEONE has to be training her right. I mean, when was the last time a Judo player ground and pound in a match? Who taught her that? And the knee that finished Sara Mcmann? Do they even teach Muay Thai knee in Judo classes?

Finally! First smart comment here! While Ronda was beating those pizza delivery girls, the coach was fine. When she fought boxing expert the coach was no good! Ronda is limited MMA fighter and HH used that against her! DeMars doesn't know what she is talking about. She's angry and jelaous about Ronda hadn't become senior world judo champ and you could compete for that basicaly every year! AnnMaria De Mars says Ronda was world junior judo champ. So? is judo MMA? Ronda wasn't even be able become senior world judo champ in category where competition is far from strong in compare to 52 and 57kg weight classes! She doesn't know boxing, she was all about arm bar for those silly girls! But what if you get someone who won't allow you to come close and apply an arm bar, what then? this is also the same lady that said MMA was horrible and was against Ronda's participation in it, also from what I've read, Ronda was nearly homeless when she started going to Edmond's gym, sometimes living out of her car with her dog - where was Ronda's mom's support for her in the very beginning when she was living like that? I wouldn't ever let my own kid live like that. I get it that she think's Edmond is only there for some of Ronda's money but honestly, no one forced Ronda to go to Edmond's gym in the very beginning, she could have gone elsewhere, she still has that choice to this day, Ronda doesn't look like the kind of person that you can boss around her - if Edmond is bad for her career, she's a big girl now, she can go elsewhere, it's not impossible.

Ronda's mom shouldn't be doing this before her fight, let alone publicly... This could have waited a few months, but what do I know? I know the movie " Rocky" is fictional, but I get that same vibe from them( Ronda and Edmond ) as a pair that Mickey and Rocky had. I think they have a unique and close relationship and if it isn’t broken, why fix it?? Would ronda have had this same success training elsewhere?? Possibly, but we can’t live in alternate universes. Ronda's mom should cool it, at least until AFTER her title fight imo.

+Lildrummerboy714 But Edmond is the reason Rousey's boxing defense is horrible. Why Bazler, Duke, and Shafir's defense is horrible, and why Manny's defense became horrible. Ironically getting rid of Edmond now would give her far better chances against Holm who will hit her. Hard.

I was talking about people in general. People are so up her ass all the time they will want to point the finger away from the only person who can control the outcome. If he wasn't doing his job why would she stay with him? I wasn't saying her mom is blaming after the loss yesterday. I'm saying other people look at this video and say "oh that's why she lost" and roll with it.

In Ronda's book there is a chapter titled "Know When To Move ON." Ronda cautions fighters not to over stay their time with a coach when they have learned all they can from him. Ronda says fighters choose to stay too long because it's easier than breaking up with a coach. Maybe Ronda doesn't have to listen to her mom here, she only has to listen to herself.

I've known Edmond was a fraud for years, he is a Wushu trained fighter masquerading as a Boxing coach. But I didn't think it would matter because of how good Rousey's Judo was and because I didn't think she would dare stand with Holm..

Right on, dear AnnMaria! He failed to teach Ronda fundamentals of proper boxing defense! When she fought Holly she did not keep her right hand in front of her face to pick punches, she did not slip or roll punches, she did not circle to her left, footwork was just not there... Elementary stuff! She was just standing in front of Holly absorbing strikes. What would work most effectively against Holly is the forgotten art of inside fighting; re Mike Tyson in his prime. Thus, taking on an additional coach is absolutely necessary. If it does not happen, then let me make a prediction right here and now: Ronda will lose her rematch.

Now I know where Ronda gets her loud mouth from. Ughh there is nothing quite like a woman that spouts off the way she just did and of course Ronda has tons of examples of the same, expressing her opinions in a arrogant tone. An example is the comment she made at the Espy's about Mayweather. This is why Holly Holm is a better example and role model of a Champion. She is modest, humble and pleasant.......and a fantastic fighter. Ronda is a great fighter too but not the type of person I would want my 10yr old to idolize or be like. Everyone loves a Champ, just not a loud mouth arrogant one. This is why Ronda is now got her head tucked between her legs, literally hiding from the public in shame!

Wow, looks like mom was spot on. One thing everyone can agree with is that Hollys fight plan was key to her victory and Rondas plan and her inability to change her approach in the second round was key to her loss. And of course we heard her coach tell her to keep doing what she was doing. Hard to disagree with mom now. And anyway, whether he's a good boxing coach, or not, why is Ronda following a standup fight plan when her expertise is the ground? She has every chance in the world to win the belt back if she checks her ego and gets a trainer that plays to her strength. Keep improving standup for sure, but don't look to it for a win against a world class boxer/kickboxer. If she trains with a plan to get and keep Holly on the ground, win or lose it will be a totally different fight. She should let mom take over and pick the trainer, she I think has the mind of a good coach.
